Dude, where in the hell did that come from?
I don't agree with you, so I'm a liar? Get a  grip, penguin.

There are many things I would consider worse than dying. If you don't feel  feel way, fine.
Leave it at that.

It's not a matter of debate whether or not you would want to survive. You're an animal, same as me, it's your primary goal, whether you like it or not. And believe me, if you'll get the chance to overcome death, you'll take it.

So I'm not saying you're a liar, I'm just saying you're a little naive.

That goes against the scores of people who sign DNR's..or who plead with their relatives to let them go "the next time".  My great grandfather was tired of life, for example.  We let him die the second time he went down..he cussed us out for weeks the first time for calling an ambulance.

I think it's easy, with just 20 or 30 years of life under ones belt..particularly in the US (or any 1st world country) to imagine that you'd want to live forever.  Well, why not, how bad can it have become....thusfar.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

She's naive? Seriously? Have you just chosen to overlook the scores of people who commit suicide? Obviously survival is not their primary goal. Or adrenaline junkies? When I jump out of a plane, my thoughts have nothing to do with survival, except maybe, "well, if I die doing this, at least I went out having a total blast."

If you know you're going to die soon anyway and there's no chance of you getting better and you're suffering, yes. But if you know there's a very good chance that you are going to get better and the doctors will keep adding years to your life and solve all the issues that are making your body sick and reverse the ageing process, then that's a no brainer. I'm sure people will still have the choice to not take that path, though, of course.

But we're not talking about being old and extending that for decades. We're talking about actually solving everything that makes old age such an awful thing. So there's not really much to talk about there, other than resources, birthing rates and all sorts of other things.

Hhahaha, speaking of, I haven't jumped out of a plane since the service - because I'm terrified of heights...but man that shit was fun.  I wonder what I'd do for fun...for eternity, and what would still -be- fun, after eternity (with eternity yet to go).  There's another innovation we'll need to support our new immortal races, fun chips.  Or, perhaps, ala Ian Banks "Culture", we could get little chemical factories installed to feel whatever we liked (or didn't)?

Watch the video I posted. That should answer at least some of your questions.

As long as it's not in the head they can fix you up. You may want to invest in a bullet proof helmet though.

Provided the republicunts don't repeal health care.

That's the spirit Tongue

No one is saying it's a sure thing, but there's nothing wrong with speculating about it. And whoever has the means to do it should invest heavily into it, since it's not exactly science-fiction, either.

Can we now talk about what we're going to do with our immortal lives? Big Grin

He was lonely, more than anything else.  Sure he was old...but he was under his own power, feeding himself, pissed standing up, no egregious loss of memory (one of the big problems) and surrounded by 3 generations of his family.  It wasn't an issue of suffering.  He just wasn't interested in waking up the next time.

(I suspect that if I had an immortal life, I'd spend most of it coming up with creative ways to end it -so, pretty much what I do now.)

Believing that you'll somehow manage to escape the reality of death by becoming an immortal is the height of naivete, IMO. Remind you anything?
