Many christians want to treat America like it's a theocracy. One of the biggest candidates wants to set a flat tax because the bible say so, despite the fact that it shouldn't take long to relize the problem with a flat tax.

If it means keeping trump out of office, sure I'd consider it, depending on several other factors though

Totally worth it. This bad Jew LOVES fucking bad Catholics.
You know, my mother was a Jew who converted to Catholicism and I was raised Catholic and become an Atheist. I'm the ultimate bad Catholic and technically I'm still Jewish to boot.

Or, it seems, his extracurriculars knowmsayin'?
If your referring to his whoremongering I agree with you.
He apparently fornicated with Marilyn monroe, and consorted with two young strumpets named "Fiddle" and "Faddle" in white house swimming pool!

My ideal choice would be someone who did not waste his time praying to some non-existent, bullshit god.
Catholics, don't seem to pay a lot of attention to the pope, though. Oh, he's a nice symbol and all but who the fuck listens to him?
Evangelical fundies on the other hand always seem to have some asswipe preacher telling them who god hates and they need to do the same.
Fuck 'em all, I say.

And oddly enough, I know some protestants who think the institution of pope is pretty swell. So it's all kinds of fucked up.
Look, politicians pay lip service all the time. Obama says he's Christian. He doesn't really act like one. Or maybe rather he acts like one, which pisses off many of the Christians in this country. He acts like a humanist. What I care about is what he DOES.

This.
Using Biden as an example - yep, he's Catholic, but so far, I haven't seen pushing the Catholic pro-life agenda. Whatever else I may think of his politics, the man knows how to keep his religion separate from his job, and I can respect that. The current crop of GOP asshats? Not at all.

I know you people go on and on about the dangers of mixing church and state.
Well, if you had a Roman Catholic as president, not only would you have a religious president, but you would have one who is beholden to a foreign power, that of the Pope and the Vatican. There a lot of wonky religions out there, but few require their adherents to pledge alleigance to some man on a marble chair, an allegiance that should supersede allegiance to the red white and blue.
*Looks around dazed*
Did I just wander into 1960?
Um, let's see . . . JFK or Nixon . . . JFK or Nixon? Should I vote for the philandering playboy Catholic who doesn't allow his private faith to interfere with his secular duties or for the paranoid, racist guy of good Quaker stock who will stoop to anything to win and (WHO KNOWS?) just might engage in criminal behavior and attempt to subvert the constitution in the future. Fucking choices . . . .
I'll have to get back to you on that, TrueChristian. Why don't you help me sort out my priorities?

And this raises an important distinction that is hidden in the way people commonly use language and talk about religion.
Sometimes when someone says "of course my religion informs my policy!" they mean "my religion informs my morality, and thus my religion tells me to be a good person, so I'll be a good person, and enact the policies that a good person would enact."
Other times, when someone says "of course my religion informs my policy!" they mean "well, obviously satan is working through the arab governments and feminism to destroy israel and heteronormativity, so we should bomb the middle east and outlaw yoga pants."
So, yeah, it's certainly the case that what someone does is a whole lot clearer than what they say...

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.
