If you were ever a theist...

It requires God to be the most evil, petty, egotistical, judgemental asshole to even create such a place let alone stick people in it indefinitely. It makes him more flawed and immoral than any human could ever be.

But it's all garbage. There is no such place. No Christian hell, no Islamic hell, no other-made-up-shit hell. It's an insult to any real God to consider it would be so pathetically cruel to its piddling creation.

Aside from it being an indicator of utmost cruelty, it doesn't even make sense. I mean why the hell would limited beings like us be worthy of such an infinite and limitless punishment?

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I thought I'd give you a heads up. That horrible, nagging feeling that I'd fucked up and was going to pay for it someday, eventually dissipated. IMO, it's simply a parting gift of religious indoctrination; worked in by design.

It took less than a year, for the thought of "What if I' wrong?" to stop disrupting my thoughts from time to time. The notion simply popped up less and less frequently over the passage time, until one day it occurred to me that I hadn't had that feeling in a long while; and I was honestly baffled and a bit embarrassed that I could have ever been bothered over something as ridiculous and clearly made-up in the first place.

Is that because you don't believe it exists or just because you're confident you won't be going there?

I used to wonder about Christians who were always looking forward to the rapture.  I doubt they thought much about it, but I'm thinking "Ok, so you're looking forward to the damnation of most of the world, friends and family who are sinners, so that you can leave your Earthly troubles behind?

They might as well say that they would burn your neighbors alive for enough money to retire.

I know what the Bible says about it, but...Idk. I just never really concerned myself with it. There is a yin and yang in this lifetime, could there be a yin and yang in an afterlife? I do believe in an afterlife, and think that the Bible's rendition of it, might just be stories. People's ideas of what it might be. Jesus spoke of hell, but He wasn't as specific as other passages of the Bible, or even the OT's depiction of it.

It always irks me when Christians or any religious people, attempt to 'predict' who will be in heaven, or hell. To me, if you are a believer, you choose a certain path. That path is between you and God. Likewise, my belief is that God loves everyone, the same. And everyone has their own path to follow. But, it's not for me to tell you or an unbeliever to jump on my path, or else something horrible will happen. Blush You know what I mean?
