Ask a patient in a psychiatric facility

It sounds pretty chilled out, do you get to play games?  Chess or a game of twister or whatever.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I'm on a mobile so selectively quoting is difficult, but I'll answer your questions the best I can.

Inpatient treatment is serving three purposes for me: its allowing me to adjust to medication in a safe environment, its allowing me a break from things that were causing my anxiety, and its impossible for me to throw myself under a bus while I'm here.   The last one is only slightly tongue-in-cheek.

From my therapist's perspective, I am here for the same reasons, but also so my medication can get me to a point where non-pharmaceutical therapy can once again be effective.

Most of the people are here are just normal people who've reached the end of their rope.  It's not "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" or anything like that.

I wish you the best of luck with medicine, doctors, and the choices you make - you already seem like a really cool dude from the ocean (as we are all from there). Cool
Mr. Hanky loves you!

A straight jacket would do me more harm than good. Just seeing one pictured gets me tensed up a little.

I always think of it as making me give myself a hug.

At least I make myself laugh.

CD, I'm glad to see you're taking care of yourself and have a plan in place. And that you're staying communicative with us. I love you and we'd all worry if we didn't hear from you. (Although I guess that's easier now that some of us are FBing too, multiple avenues of contact).

Keep us updated.

[hugs]

Yeah, there's some down time every day, and several board games and cards and such. No naked Crisco Twister, unfortunately.

Would it be okay for you to share why you were suddenly getting signs of physical disability?... If you don't want to, that's cool, I don't want you to feel..

That always helps me sleep.

Dude, there's two security cameras in my room.   Tongue

No wanking?????  Well, the PTSD, emotional and physical trauma along with the disability aside...........no wanking??i  It's beyond humane.  They have to be Christian.

Joking aside, I hope you manage to figure things out so that these feelings subside dude.  if these people can help, all the better.
