It may not be my best but it is my most recent:

Rule 1: Take things as they appear until shown otherwise.
Rule 2: Things are not always as they appear.

Basically I try to take people at their word and don't immediately assume they have a hidden motives. But I still must be prepared to recognize when there is one and not fool myself into believing otherwise.

I don't know man. Sometimes I'd really put some thought into it and come up with something great and it wouldn't be appreciated. So I just stopped doing it. Embrace twitter era mentality. Write small, think big. Fuck it.
