Well done, DT.  You lost more than I did.  I went from 240 to 215 in the first ten weeks of last year and then stopped doing more than trying to maintain.  But in fact I did come down to 205 by the start of this year.

I find keeping the weight off pretty easy but losing is a chore.  I'll be happy to hit 170 nekid.  I'm at 195 (fully clothed), down 10 pounds over the first four weeks of the class.  Unfortunately the class only goes 6 weeks instead of 10 like last year.  So if I can continue to lose 2 pounds a week I'm going to need about 12 - 14 more weeks.  So maybe by the end of April I can hope to get down to 170.  Regardless I'll want to keep a lid on total calories and recreational snacking for as long as it takes.  I was 165 in high school and quite slim so maybe 170 isn't realistic.  We'll see.

I was pretty skinny in high school, could eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and never gain weight. Then I turned 19 and my metabolism slowed down. Plus that was about the time I developed a taste for beer. But I started putting on weight then and it slowly kept creeping up. Then 15 years of an office type job didn't help matters much, either. But now I'm active and working in a job where I'm doing a lot of walking around (up and down stairs at that) and lifting heavy things. And my bike riding certainly couldn't hurt either.

My weight goes up and down like a cheer leader on the football team.
Currently my clothes are a little "snug" thanks to Xmas and a succession minor set backs that limit my work out time.

192 pounds while weighing in fully clothed at this past Tuesday night's class. One more class meeting to go .. and about 20 more pounds. Think I'll check my nekid weight too. That should cheer me up. 188.5 baby! Been a long time since I was 180-anything.

Strategy-wise I've stopped recording what I eat. I just know what things cost calorie-wise, keep portions smaller and cut out all un-need snacks. Snacks based on real hunger and/or delayed meals are okay. Once I get to the target weight, maintenance will just involve moderating recreational snacking and monitoring portion size. That seems to get it done.

I'm 'enjoying' a diet restriction on sugar for almost 2 months now.

Not for weight loss, but too high blood sugar. (no particular surprise with family history after all)

I'll check in here from time to time, I need some encouragement. As most other 12 Steppers have noted, many of us have a sweet tooth, and mine has been Jonesing for all kinds of sugary nastiness.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Yeah, I have a huge sweet tooth too and my family is full of type 2 diabetes (mother, father, 3 brothers, 1 sister).  The only ones who have escaped it -so far- is me, my youngest brother and our brother who died at 19.  Best of luck to you vorlon, I think you have a strong drive to survive.  We can do this.

Thanks.  As everyone knows, fatties don't do well with hotties, well, unless they're rich.  Probably easier for me to lose pound than to pack on mega bucks at this time in my life.
