How u take it is totally up to u Well it's not the only reason. I also like to learn about different religious views or non religious views that people believe in. This way I know how to compare them with my belief as a Muslim (January 29, 2016 at 5:13 pm)Brian37 Wrote:I think you're a little off on your conclusion. From the pure Islamic pov muslims are supposed to believe everything in the Bible and Torah. Of course since they are forbidden to read those books they can't believe what's in them. So that makes the Islamic clerics liars and deceivers because they don't believe what's in the Koran.(January 29, 2016 at 12:44 pm)Wyrd of Gawd Wrote: So who revised the Koran to include chapters and verses? It must have been done after the 16th Century. Religious people tend to get bad attitudes when it's suggested that they should follow one doctrine. If they did that then countless people would lose their special status and jobs. Consequently they all want to retain their own herd where they can be the big wig. In a fractured system everyone can get to be someone special even if it's just the head of a small gaggle of superstituous twits. Even Mohammed complained that his herd of twits had formed over 70 different sects in his lifetime and he was the one who supposedly came up with the BS in the first place. There is no celestial God of any kind in this solar system. The bulk fall under the headings of numerology and retconning, the practice of putting new interpretations on old passages as if the interpretation was there all along. I don't think we need a rehash.Well I know how a lot of atheists believe in scientific and astronomical reasoning and as I said there are plenty of examples of the Qur'an that are supported by these schools of thought. For example there are 114 chapters in the Qur'an. Ch.57 is Al-Hadyd or The Iron. Arabic letters have numerical value like Roman numerals in a sense. So with the word for iron Hadyd...(Ha)H=8 (Dal)D=4 (Ya)Y=10 and (Dal)=4. Add these values together u get 26. Look on any periodic table on Fe the symbol for iron u see the atomic number is 26. Now furthermore the Arabic article Al which means the (Alif)A=1 and(Lam)L=30. Add this 31 to the value of 26 Making it 57 and Al-Hadyd "The iron" which is the chapter name and number. To take it 1 step further 57 is exactly halfway through the Qur'an..scientists have discovered that if u cut the Earth in half, exactly to its inner core, it consists of molten iron. Sure you do, because you define atheist differently than an atheist does. Now again, Islam is not the only religion that has fans who point to their book to claim it matches science. Christians and Jews and Hindus and Buddhists do it too. When religion cant debunk science it tries to co opt science. Scientific method is not a religion, it is a tool. It does not prop up claims of Allah or Jesus or Yahweh or Buddha or Vishnu. Scientific method is completely religion independent. It is why a plane will fly in Iran, and a computer will work in Japan, and a flu vaccine will work in South Africa. It is why a cell phone will work in Australia and China. Science does NOT prop up the Quran or Bible or Torah or Talmud or Vedas. Those are all human concocted myths humans like believing. Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who was this man sent to you as prophet? Those who disbelieve will answer incorrectly and will hear a voice say"My servant has lied, prepare for them a coffin from Hellfire." Then u will be shown a window of Paradise. It will be said this is what your Lord has prepared for you, but since you disbelieved you receive this instead. Then an ugly man with a foul stench as your bad deeds will keep you company as you are wrapped in burning shrouds of hellfire. No not even coincidence, just made up bullshit. None of what you posted is an actual demonstration of knowledge. Just made up junk. Try debating some Christians or Jews or Hindus. This Christian website would claim science matches their bible. https://www.livingwaters.com/witnessingt...ible.shtml This Jew would claim that science backs up Jews. http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cd...Talmud.htm Or this Jew. http://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/...he-talmud/ Bet this Hindu would argue science props up their religion. https://www.facebook.com/sciencehinduism/ This website claims Hindu is a religion and a science. http://www.hindupedia.com/en/Sanatana_Dh...or_science I am sure Buddhist will watch this video and go A HA, WE GOT IT RIGHT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj_i7YqDwJA I say you are all wrong and religion is all man made and all of you are simply trying to retrofit science into garbage looking backwards after the fact.
Here is a video of a Hindu apology trying to match science.
