I cannot speak for anyone else, but it was never a choice for me. I did not reach puberty with the arduous decision of either being attracted to boys or girls. One day, sometime during the onset of puberty, I simply found myself quite attracted to the male gender as opposed to the female gender, and that was how I discovered that I am gay.

I've read some recent studies that suggest that homosexual tendencies can happen on a sliding scale...meaning that one can be born 100% or 0% homosexual or potentially another  percentage homosexual and it may or may not become active based on environmental and social circumstances.

Most of the gay people I know say they were just born that way with one exception.  I have a friend that was married, had kids, got divorced and then met another woman that she fell in love with.  Now she says she's 100% gay and can't imagine being straight again.

I'm not gay (that I know of) so I can't speak for any absolutes on the topic but I think there's a lot of potential variables.  Biology and human development is complex...a lot of combinations can happen.

Homosexuality also naturally occurs in nature.  There was an article not long ago about two male penguins at the Detroit Zoo that pair bonded (penguins mate for life) and adopted an egg that was abandoned by a female penguin.

Regardless of what the biological realities are....consenting adults should have the right to love someone from whatever gender they choose and be afforded all the same rights as everyone else.

Christians citing biblical verse about homosexuality are ridiculous.  First, the bible was written by men in a time that bears no resemblance to the present day.  If their god had wanted to make a law about homosexuality, he didn't write it in the 10 commandments which is the one part of the bible supposedly authored by him.  Also they pick one law out of Leviticus which consists of over 50 laws about sinning.  They ignore all the others though.  According to Leviticus, its also a sin comparable to men lying with men that one should not:

1.  Have a round haircut
2.  Wear clothing made of more than one type of cloth
3.  Have sex with your wife while she's on her period.
etc, etc, etc.

But we don't hear psycho-christians trying to stifle the human rights of the aholes from their flock with bowl cuts, now do we?

And by the way, the word "homosexual" or "gay" doesn't even appear in the bible.  The term christoids try to equate with it is "sodomite."  However, that term actually in context of the bible refers to two things 1) ANY type of sex that isn't vaginal and 2) prostitution, particularly prostitution in the temples.   They actually also used the term sodomitess to refer to women prostitutes.

Its far more modern christians that used that word to refer only to homosexuality and homosexual sex acts.

To summarize, christians have created their own bigotry about homosexuals out of a pack of lies and misrepresentation of their own misguided literature.

I don't think they are changing their sexuality so much as they are taking advantage of a hole is a hole for the gratification that sex provides.

Well i'm not sure that having physical sex and attraction are necessarily the same thing.

I know guys that stick their dicks in fleshlights but I don't think its because they find the fleshlight sexy.

This seems to be the same in the Quran, as far as I can tell. it mentions the people of lut or people who do what the people of lut did

I don't think it is a choice either. I can't imagine anyone would choose to be a target for the abuse, ridicule and cruelty that sadly, so many homosexual individuals still have to endure. Also, I certainly couldn't wake up tomorrow and -decide- to be attracted to women, so I don't see how it could possibly work the other way around.

I think sometimes it's biological only, and sometimes it's a mix between biology and nurture. But it's never just nurture. And of course it's never a choice.
