RE: Film Club
Most everything is available on a streaming service, if your a tech-savoy person you can always try popcorn time. Just be careful using it and always use behind a VPN. I have an original install of it if anyone wants to try it.

Might as well pirate it than watch it in shitty quality over the internet.

If it's available on Amazon Prime, that's great. Let's hope there are some who have the service.

I get some pretty good quality steaming links, Prime is kinda costly at $100.00 a year. If you guys have friends or relatives with theses services piggy back off there accounts. It's a great way to save money.

Don't worry though, I'm sure all of us on here will find a way to watch it. It's not like were all showing up to the video store to rent it. Then to bring it home and have to rewind the tape cause SOMEONE forgot to rewind it!

No one has wrote back so far, or replied in this thread for that matter, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I like what you're saying, but at the same time this can be really simple at the same time(since people seem to be AWOL). All you have to know is the name of the movie and the period of time you're supposed to watch it in. So very simply, we watch Enemy, and one week from now we regroup here and discuss the film. Then someone else gets to pick a movie, and if people agree to watch it, we do that and so on.

Yeah, I never got a PM either. Maybe you hit save as draft on accident or it just failed going out through the server.

But I've got Enemy bookmarked and plan on watching it soon!  My main question now is, how will the discussion take place?  Do we need to wait a week to talk about it, so we don't spoil those who've not gotten a chance to see it yet?

That be the rational way to go about it, I'm sure he would create a thread on 20th since it was his idea; and he would the most logical person to manage it. Unless it's the person who suggests a movie responsibility to make the thread for that movie when it comes time for the discussion. I think this film club is going be a hit on here, I'm just wondering if Foreign movies and remakes are going to accepted. I generally hate remakes, 96% of the time they are terrible. I hope no one suggests nothing with Jack Black in it, that man is terrible! I would also suggest that no movies that has not be released on DVD or digital yet can not be nominated , there's no way I'm gonna go to a theater or watch a low quality cam version.

No, Aroura, you're actually active in the thread, what would be the point of me writing you a PM when I'm already conversing with you here? I only wrote PMs to those people who showed mild interest at first but then were nowhere to be found.

If I knew these PMs would mean so much to you I would have sent them to you guys as well, jeez. Smile

Yes, I think so. This period of time might change in the future depending on the needs of those involved, but we had to start somewhere to get the activity going.

That's a neat idea actually. So I'll make a new thread for Enemy next week and then after a few days of talking about it someone will choose the next movie to watch in that same thread and then either they or someone else will make a new thread a week after that, and so on.

Ooh, I love movies! Sounds like it actually could be loads of fun, provided no one's telling others how they MUST feel about the films being discussed, or that others are ignorantly naive and stupid for having a differing opinion. I just may watch Enemy and join in on the fun next week. Obviously, I'll avoid putting my elbows on the table.

I'll even leave my sarcastic memes at home. Angel

In the interim, a movie that many or most have already seen could be discussed.
Just a thought.

I'm not sure about that. There will always be at least someone who hasn't yet seen a movie and we'll be spoiling it for him. This is not a private group, it's open for everyone on the forums. It's better if we just watch them.

Other than that, I'm glad you're joining us and hope you stick around.

So, I couldn't sleep last night anyway, so hubby and I watched Enemy. I'll just say I think it's a great film to start this film club with, as it should garner lots of interesting discussion. Good choice EP!
