what do you think about immortality coming?

RE: what do you think about immortality coming?
How would that work though? The planet would over populate so quickly...
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Logan's Run.
Problem solved!!!! Smile

(Yes, I see the irony in--- "Hey, we've developed a cure for aging! You can live forever! Unfortunately now, we'll have to kill everyone at age 30.")

If this happens before we have easy access to space, there would indeed be a problem. Even after, birth rates would have to drop to almost nothing.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Well I certainly wouldn't wanna live in space or in another planet. I still think there would be a population problem.

Warfare would take care of that.

It's not like we would share the elixir with the Mos . . .

But that would take away people's freedom to reproduce and have their own children as they wanted to. No one would ever go for that.

Won't happen.

It will only be available for a small minority: the rich and the powerful.

Until humanity can sort out it's social issues, general "immortality" is impractical for the human species.

If there ever is an anti aging/immortality pill, I doubt it will be legal.
