That should scare the fuck out of people.
Trump and the GOP and the 1% masturbate at the prospect of replicating China's authoritarian capitalism here.

Yeah, China kind of combines the worst of both worlds. Unchained capitalism and an authoritarian regime. I wouldn't even call it communist, since communism at least offered social security, which China doesn't.

This is the problem with ALL forms of ideology, be they political, or religious or economic views.
ALL OF THEM point to the benefits, but the problem is they all get sold as cures and utopias, and the reality is humans are never simplistic labels, which is why cookie cutters don't work. Parts may have benefits, but even then, what works at one point may not work for ever and nobody ever agrees in the mass of the entire nation 100% of the time.
So my attitude his mixed economies and bans on all monopolies, be they political or religious or economic or class, with the attitude that you change when the conditions change.
Closed markets like China ARE successful, and Saudi Arabia is not a poor nation. But they do all invest in the global market. My only objection to the current conditions of America, isn't the private sector, but the attitude of far too much of the top.
Anything humans do, and every aspect of life, can become abusive. That is why I am no fan of "one size" and "either/or" but case by case and balance that allows for some inequity but not lopsided, with the attitude that a chain is as only as strong as it's weakest link.
Right now things are way out of whack and far too much power has been given to one class. NO you cant get rid of the private sector, but right now, the corporate world is abusive.

This is the downside of the history of the corporate world. Just like religion, it always seems to take outside forces to drag it kicking and screaming into reality. They say that now, but the suspicions were around long before their acceptance. Same crap with lead in gas, and Nadar with cars. And assholes like the Kochs and big oil clinging to a very dangerous product that is killing our planet.
Now again, you cant rid the world of the private sector, but this is yet another reason, just like religion, it should NEVER be trusted blindly to do the right thing. Humans run everything in life, religion, political parties and businesses, and when you leave those things unchecked, people get hurt. Imagine how many injuries the NFL could have prevented sooner if it had not tried to cover it up when they knew suspicions were raised, and instead worked with that skeptical doctor from the start.

It is not business, it is simply human ego. Humans evolved to seek patterns, and when they think something works, and they get used to replicating their success, they don't want that threat to their resources challenged.
I have certainly worked for very wonderful businesses who treated me well. But the bigger something becomes, the harder it can get to keep it on a leash.

"Chuanpu?"
It seems that Peking has found a use for Drumpf. He's serving as the bad example!
http://www.rawstory.com/2016/03/democrac...ald-trump/
Quote:“The rise of a racist in the US political area worries the whole world,” the party-controlled Global Times crowed this week ahead of of Trump’s victory in the latest round of primaries . “He has even been called another Benito Mussolini or Adolf Hitler by some western media.”
It added, darkly: “Mussolini and Hitler came to power through elections, a heavy lesson for western democracy.”
Trump, or “Chuanpu” as they call him in China, has been a gift to Communist party spin doctors paid to convince the country’s 1.4 billion citizens that rule of the people is a sure path to chaos and destruction.
“They are relishing this moment,” says Zhou Fengsuo, a US-based democracy activist who fled his native China following the deadly 1989 Tiananmen crackdown. “They are very happy. They are laughing over this.
I wonder what "chuanpu" means? Probably "Shitforbrains" in Chinese.

That's why I always make a distinction between a free market and capitalism. Capitalism is an ideology like every other. It's the religion of greed, if you so wish. A free market is business competing. Capitalism is big business buying out the competition, to the detriment of the customers and the employees.
What we face now isn't a free market anymore, since there's hardly any competition going on in certain fields. It's worst when different media outlets are owned by one big corporation, since it's a direct attack on the freedom of press. These last two or three decades we've moved rapidly towards corporacy. And the ones running the show get away with almost everything scots free as 2008 has shown in a very painful manner.

Well looky here, Ben Carson's only reason to support Trump was to get a job. Basically he wouldn't have otherwise.
