There is a valve Trombone? How does it differ from the various Trumpets? Mainly lower?

I played in various brass bands in my youth.
I started out on the tenorhorn and eventually moved over to cornet and flugelhorn.
When the Drum Major died I took over that role during marches.
Finally I ended up being the conductor for a few years.
I was the bugler every Anzac Day and played The Last Post at all the digger's funerals.
Also played in the local orchestra and concert band. Had a paying job with a jazz band and an old time dance band.
Then I had a car accident and smashed half of my top teeth out plus a few bottoms.
Never played anything brass ever again.
I just play a bit of guitar now and I'm really good on the keyboard. :-)

When did you hate marching the most?

Mine was the Nebraskaland Days parade. Always so fucking hot and in full dress wool uniforms. 5 gd miles. And of course, always following horses. Next was football games in freezing weather. Had to keep the reed from freezing.

Don't get me started in selling band candy.

Yes, an octave lower (basically, a trombone-sized trumpet).

It's essentially the marching band equivalent of the Euphonium or Baritone Horn

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

Trombones are usually in c using the bass clef.
Trumpets are in b flat using the treble clef.
So not quite an octave lower. :-)
Sorry guys about the sob story.
It doesn't worry me now.
It was over 20 years ago.

Is it possible to use high gravity to achieve a temporal shift?
