Feminism: why am I supposed to worship women's feet again?

RE: Feminism: why am I supposed to worship women's feet again?
I clicked on this thread, got about one line into the OP and said "NOPE!"

You guys have fun.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Quote:I never made such an accusation. I was literally just agreeing with you that hitting is wrong regardless of gender.

Then it's my bad for assuming something else.

Quote:Ahh here's a point. The only problem being that is sounds like hooplah. I don't know what you're trying to say. Can you explain it in plain English without any metaphors?

I do have a metaphor leakage, I realize that my writings contain lots of symbolism, I learned English from "Green Day" songs and Japanese horror video games like silent hill, so...you get the big picture -maybe you don't-, but whatever..

Quote:I never thought you were seeking to practice anything on me. My point was only to tell you that you got so caught up in your fantasy that you forgot to actuall make a point. Saying silliness about worshipping women's feet. It's a huge strawman as no one has asked you to do that.

It wasn't a strawman kind of thing, the goal behind that terrible intro, is to show the reader how I like dominenet, controlling women, but how that should end up in bedrooms, and never get out because then it will be a type of tyranny; a nasty one too. Feminism is domination to me, not equality.
It was terrible. I could've represented it in better words. But I lost control; something I would try my best not to happen again.

Quote:As for the rest, I have no interest in an appeal to authority. I'm a feminist by my own definition of the word (which I believe to also be the standard definition). Not be however historical feminists may or may not have seen it. I do not subscribe to any feminist faith, I call myself a feminist soley on that I believe in equal rights for men and women.

Finally, clearly my peer was not capable of peircing my mind as he accused me of holding a certain opinion which I do not hold.

Then, you should change the label to something like "Losyminsm" or "Femilost". Feminism is feminism, if you're a feminist, then you believe -supposedly- what the books say and define, when you believe your own thing, you give it your own name. Or, you -like in my case with Islam- claim to posses a real understanding of the ideology that is different than the current one.

Quote:I find in speaks volumes Quran never says to women not to inherit men against their will (meaning not to marry them against their will or force sex on them) but it does tell men not to do that to women.

Where in Quran has it ever told women if they hate men, that perhaps they dislike a thing but that God has placed abundant good?

Where?

But it tells women not to hide  children from their fathers too, right?

( Sura 2 228 )   Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Meaning is, mystic, men are not women, women are not men, women sometimes sin differently, that's all. some sins only women can do, and some sins only men can do, take the sin in the verse: hiding children from their fathers, what women who cheat on their husbands and get impregnated by other lovers?

Ever pictured the poor husband, spending a lifelong journy of raising a kid that isn't his?
The Quran too speaks about women who do this:

(Sura 60 12 )   O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right - then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

You know, that some women throw their infant children in the garbage because they had a "sex accidents", right?
Oooops I did it again type of thing..
The news is there on google, you can search for it and see for youself. Or take the word of the God you're quoting more seriously..

Quote:[b] Because there hardly exists any women who actually hate men.  They may say "I hate men..." but they aren't serious about it[/b]

...

You're not serious, right?

Quote:The Quran however shows this "then if you hate them" ie. which is implied if they think they can force them against their will or not treat them kindly, is something that God out of choosing infinite possible words he can reveal to humanity, had to emphasize that perhaps some men or a lot of men don't see the good God has placed in a woman. They don't give her true value while God has placed abundant good.

Mystic, in this life you either like stuff or dislike stuff; the verse is simply telling you to reconsider the thing you hate; maybe this thing you hate has quite a good interest for you.

Let's say I hate agatha because her feet smell bad. But she's a good mother and has a wonderful personality. If I hated her, I will waste such a good chance to be happy.

This is exactly what mature people learn, when life takes us deep in its core..we must always reconsider, the things we hate the most might be the places where we find true value and happiness.

God just revealed it to us early, that's all.
This verse has nothing to do with women. It's a general concept, mystic.

Quote:No Quran doesn't see men and women as the same, and is sexist by western standards in the sense it gives them different roles...but it recognizes that this phenomenon of  women being belittled by men, treated unkindly due to not seeing what is good in them, was a reality.

We are the same in terms of rights, but we are different in terms of physical qualities and roles.
The Quran says this, and the west says this.

Is it so uncommon for women, to be taken care of financially by their lovers/husbands in the west?
I don't think so, and I think this was the norm since the stone age.

A woman who wants to have a better standard of living might work, many do, but being a "housewife" is so common in the west.
The Quran said that men MUST protect and spend on their wives, despite the wife's financial state. To be a husband, you must pay to your wife her housing, her food, her medicine...etc.

Here, it's in this verse:

( Sura 4 verse 34 )   Men are guardians on women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

The shia faith might be sexist, but please don't accuse the Quran of being so blindly.

Quote:Now despite this clear verse, you very well know hadiths allow forced sex with slaves (ie. inheriting them and making them into mothers of your children against their will.  Despite this clear verse, some women were abused in the name of religion of Islam and you know this.

You're the shia; you believe in Hadiths; not me ! keep me out of it.

Women were raped under all kinds of excuses. Some abusive boyfriends do it, and claim that "they were hearing voices".

Quote:It had to go out of it's way not to say to not try to straight them to take money from what you have given them.

Huh ?

Quote:Why does it never say such a thing to women?

Because the abuse of women's rights exist.

Didn't you read my comment to losty, and see what I told her here:

From atlas's point of view I assume he's upset that their faces are visible and we arn't forcing them into slave marriages or stoning them.

No, because I identify with a well established and socially accepted definition of feminism. The vast majority of feminists will tell you that feminism is about equality.

Feminism is not a religion, we don't have any holy books. So maybe you have a few books written by a few wack jobs about their personal thoughts on feminism. That means nothing to me. Feminism is not my religion, I don't have a blind faith or even any faith at all in it. So I just don't care what your books say. You see a few radicals in a sea of feminists and choose to label us all based on them.

I could call you a terrorist based on the same logic but I won't because I can see how flawed the logic is.

Okay, so a lot of people here are saying that men and women are different. So why are you part of a movement that encourages men and women to be treated equally?
