Okay, some of you seem to have lost track of the real purpose of this thread - to make me laugh. And after such a promising beginning.
Leaving levity aside I always grimace when a theist claims science attests to screwy, National Enquirer sort of junk .. only to conclude that no scientific theory can account for it .. thus establishing once and for all that science is in no position to contradict religion. (I realize this makes no sense and that is what makes me grimace.)

Oh I hate them seriously. They look sexy but they're a pain in the ass to get on and off without running. And I'm not really a peeing through the pantyhose pee hole kinda girl. It seems unsanitary to me.

Seeing other atheist putting people down for their religious beliefs. Or seeing religious people condemning others for their lack of faith in god. It just becomes a childish game.

What angers me, apart from the serious things at the start of this thread re USA (though I am UK and it much less applies) is the way that Theists are often duplicitous and intellectually dishonest. They may speak of reasons why it might be reasonable to believe in a Cosmological God, citing Einstein etc... but then a wedge of Deism granted as a reasonable if possibly erroneous surmise that beings might consider Being a part of the Cosmos, they are straight back down their their bloody bible - which, of course, if they read it, tells us 'All fat belongs to the Lord' and that insects have 'four feet'. This makes me instantly in public be an Atheist.... though I may privily have odd thoughts on a Wednesday afternoon that a Being had at least some of the seeing to a universe or universes in which being was in-written.

Well, I mean, people have a right to vote for anyone they want, and if most of them are Christians and believe only a Christian could represent their interests well, then that's their prerogative. It's unfortunate, but it's true.

Yes, dishonesty is rampant. I think in some cases, they have become so used to employing such techniques to defend their faith at all costs, that they don't even realise they are doing it anymore.
If they actually employed the same levels of arguments and evidence with any other aspect of their lives, I'd be extremely concerned as to how they could function in the world. If you don't act like a sceptic most of the time, you get fucked up one way or another.
