Boss fired me today - by phone. After 20 years of toiling for that asshole. Says he's making too little money. Right after participating at the Rolls Royce rally in Italy. I'm 53, human trash in this day and age, going by age alone. So, fat chance of finding another job.

Count is now at one bottle of wine and 12 beers. Not the American mainstream piss, but European ones, containing enough alcohol to get down to business.

Hey, even if the chances are against you getting a job, don't lose hope. Maybe you could be self-employed? I know it sounds silly and desperate of me but I don't want you to despair and drink yourself to oblivion.

I was self employed with a handshake contract. That makes it even easier to get fired. Not that being employed would offer much more security where I worked, since I observed people being fired while on sick leave. That's borderline illegal by the way, but they've been pressured into accepting consensual termination.

Bottom line is, at the wrong side of 50, it's very hard to find a job earning a living. Not after 2008. There's next top no growth and having worked as a journalist for the last 26 years, I probably won't get a job at the media again. They simply don't hire but lay off. And if they hire, it's very young people, willing to slave away for a pittance.

Been somewhat healthy-ish lately. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy a drink now and again but I still understand that it's probably not the healthiest activity for a teenager to partake in.

I'm slightly buzzed though.  

I think I'm done insulting my body for a while too. There's plenty enough people willing to do it for me.
