I couldn't help but post the infamous Christian "argument" for why they are idiots.

RE: The "Stalin Was an Atheist" argument
So what if Stalin was an atheist?

Christians under the name of Christianity have done much worse.

Christians only rely upon one individual in the history of humanity to make a claim that atheism is so evil while Christianity still has to deal with the thousands of years of history where it purposefully caused harm and to this day continues to cause harm all because of what it believes should be universally accepted.

RE: The "Stalin Was an Atheist" argument
Ah yes. The "you're as bad as me" argument.

Stalin was right handed too. Ban right handed people. Was he? I don't know. I just made it up. Who cares about facts or logic.

Maybe people would stop using these dumb arguments if we made them preface any such statement with:

"My god stood by and did nothing while..."

The thing is evil people do evil things because they're evil. Good people do evil things because their religion tells them to do it.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: The "Stalin Was an Atheist" argument
I think the point these believers miss is that there's nothing ideologically motivating about Atheism that would make you kill someone. Stalin wasn't in his home one day and said you know what I'm going to kill and implement genocide based on my Atheism. Same goes for Pol Pot or Mao Zedong. There has to be a dogma or ideology behind it. I mean, how can you get from the negative position of the I don't believe you stance of Atheism, to using it as a motivating factor to genocide people, it doesn't correlate, at all, it's a retarded argument from pseudo-intellectuals.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.
