Mosque at Ground Zero

RE: Mosque at Ground Zero
Jesus got his butt kicked by Allah. Apparently Jesus is a false god. Hey we have all worshipped a false god from time to time. It is time for the cry baby 9-11 mourners to grow a penis and get over it.

Republican are racist (generally speaking), that's why they don't want a mosque built.

How many Republicans are there? I guess 'generally speaking' means 'most' or 'the majority' .How many millions is that?

What about Democrats? .Do you think that (generally speaking) they are not racists? About what percentage do you think that might be? What percentage would be racists? Roughly how many people? Does that mean there are no Democrats opposed to the mosque?

I think those figures would make an interesting comparison, assuming you have some evidence to support them.

My view as an outsider is that the whole thing is a storm in a tea cup,and about wedge politics, not race or religion. Politicians and media are playing to the bigotry of the fearful idiot factor in the US,which is huge and which votes with its feet.

Damn. I am so tired of religion infesting every area of our lives. Religion caused it, religion still adds fuel to it........THIS BS WILL NEVER END until we stop making any decisions based on religion. But it seems to be a part of our genes.

THousands of years ago, the Athenians got smashed after their defeat at Syracuse because an eclipse. They made the decision NOT to sail until the prescribed time was up. Now, they all fought battles this way, not just a group here and there.

Fast forward to a Roman battle, Paullus against Perseus. Another eclipse, but they learned from the Athenians that an eclipse is just an eclipse. But the Macedonians did not..........So who had the edge?

I'm with Minimalist. I really don't care- as Chasm said, Muslims were killed there, too!

If we stopped making decisions based on religions and other people continue to do so, we will have the advantage to show a better way and stop the madness. But we have to get rid of the ideologies spouting about by theo-politicians.

To put a little bit of spin on things, and to cut through some of the racist bullshit spilling from the mouths of the far right...

Jen (Blag Hag) recently went to new York's ground Zero... Her pictures and descriptions are not of a Mosque at ground zero, but of an Islamic Recreation center a few blocks away and down an inconspicuous back alley...

Jen Wrote:I decided to stop by the controversial "Ground Zero Mosque." I use quotes because 1. It's not a mosque, it's a Muslim community center that will include (amongst many other things) an area for prayer, and 2. It's not exactly near Ground Zero. We had to walk a couple blocks to get there, and then down a quiet side street. It by no means feels like it's on top of Ground Zero.

None at all, except the republicans in my all white neighborhood who appose this because, i quote, "Muslims hate America and Jesus"

So excuse my wording i should of said this:

The Republicans I know are racist and i will assume that a large majority of them are from what is said through the media. But i do take into account that the media is not always spot on.

OK now???Tongue

I have Republicans in my own family and they swear they are not racists. Then, they look you right in the eye and say something like " of course, we have to keep the blacks in their place or they'll take over."

After years of consideration I have come to the conclusion that they are too stupid even to be good racists.

But they are fine Republicans.

This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about. I will not go against my assumption on why they don't want a mosque near ground zero although I admit I don't have proof that "the majority of them are racist" I will say this; Republicans are in many ways "The Jesus politicians" and through religion comes the persecution of others and intolerance. In this case the intolerance is against the Islamic faith. This has been proven throughout history.
