I really don't give a shit what the motivation was. Mentally ill, right wing Christian, or Islamic nut. Getting stuck on that bullshit is what the NRA wants. It still remains with BOTH legal and illegal buys, we have a flooded market, that makes it impossible to prevent any disturbed person, regardless of motive, from getting them.
Do not hand me any fucking shit coming from the right worshipers, that you want to keep guns out of the wrong hands. The left wants that as well. If our current laws worked, we would see LESS of this, not more of this. And don't hand me any bullshit that Florida is a fascist "liberal" state.
This is not about gun rights, this is about one lobby scaring the shit out of society which prevents us from doing anything practical. I am fucking tired of the NRA selling their bullshit fears and lies. It is an absolute myth liberals want to ban every single gun. But only a sick individual thinks we don't have a problem and only a sick individual thinks handing out more will make us safer.

This shit's just out of hand now. First that shooting at the concert earlier this week and now this happens. And we still won't have gun control.
A lot of the news stories are saying this is "possible terrorism". No, it is terrorism and I don't care if it was a Christian or a Muslim behind the gun. To go into a gay nightclub an open fire, it's obvious what your motive is and why you chose that particular club, it's terror.

Did anyone miss the fact that the guy who murdered the singer was not a Muslim? Did anyone miss the fact that Dillon Roof was also not a Muslim? The theater shooter, not a Muslim. The Va Tech shooter, not a Muslim. The two Vegas shooters who murdered two cops and a civilian in the Walmart, also not a Muslim. Columbine shooters not Muslim. 9 dead a the Texas bar shooting, also not Muslims.
Disturbed is disturbed, regardless of motive. The issue is guns, PERIOD. Not rights, but the flooded market, and certain types, NOT ALL, but certain types, and the ease of getting them, both legally and illegally.
The NRA loves the fear because that fear sells guns and those guns by shear volume make them easier to get. And legal at time of buy, also does not prevent that person from doing something dangerous or deadly after that legal purchase.

It's been out of hand for decades. My junior year HS yearbook, had a two page layout of stories that made national news, one of them was about a McDonalds massacre in San Ysidro just south of San Diego Ca. That wasn't last year, nor 3 years ago, or even 10 years ago. That was 1984. And not even Reagan or Brady getting shot stopped the NRA lobby from reversing gun safety laws.
What the fuck is it going to take for America to wake up? This isn't about taking all guns away. It is about our obsession that does not value safety and pragmatism.
This shit has to stop. FUCK THE NRA!

Yup. I just saw that on the news. At the very least, according to the reports, that this may have been, at the least, ISIS inspired. ISIS has called on Muslims to attack the U.S. during the month of Ramadan.
