But you have to admit it's pretty ridiculous in this day and age. An independant Texas wouldn't make it round the corner without declaring bankrupcy.

-And yet an independent Texas' economic prospects are actually very similar to an independant UKs........

Texas is big enough, though.

We didn't make it around the corner even back in the 1800's! lol The Republic of Texas was a huge failure but Texans ignore that part

Probably could, today. The states GDP is bigger than most countries.

Perhaps not, after certain business interests who are better off with the union than a breakaway state withdraw.

But we would be even more illiterate than we are now. Texas would spend all of it's educational money on high school football if it could. My hometown spent $1 million on Astroturf for our football field...

It's not that I disagree...but you could cut Texas' GDP -in half- and it would still be bigger than alot of countries we don't exactly think of as shitholes. To my mind, that only highlights the idiocy of secessionist dreams....regardless of who may harbor them or what body they seek to leave. It would be a bad idea for them... and they're better off than the majority of soveriegn nations by a wide margin.
I know that brits don't appreciate the comparison, but they've just ran out the stars and bars, and from the outside...that much is obvious, as is where this decision will lead.

Now if my country actually could fund a soccer team that doesn't fail at any international competition.

But this isn't even the NFL this is for high school teenagers! We are funding these 16 year olds to beat each other up to the point of actually hurting themselves permanently. I detest football if you couldn't tell lol
