Let's see how many apologetics take the bait

RE: Let's see how many apologetics take the bait
There is an unstated premise that needs explicit stating if there is to be a clear distinction of the difficulty.

Here's what I think it is: All of God's commands in the bible are valid and binding for every person and in every age.

If that premise is true, then "contradictions" like the OP show that the commands of God as recorded in the Bible are unreliable.

If that is the unstated premise, where does it come from? If not, what is the premise?

In the scripture that you referenced God is speaking to Noah who wasn't under Hebrew law... because it didn't exist.

Noah? So god drowned the whole world without giving them a law to live by. On what grounds did he judge them guilty? Did he read them their Miranda rights?
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

OT Jews are, for the most part, dead. Except for the Wandering Jew. And I'm sure after 2,000 years he must have had a few bacon bits on his baked potato. Maybe ate something without asking what it was.

Was he mad at pigs, or something?

Who knows for sure, but maybe pigs were carrying a sickness or disease that would have changed the course of History if they were eaten by the jews in that time period. (no refrigeration, plus medium rare is how most everyone ate everything) This would also account for the law that says Jew must eat everything well done. (no blood in the meat)

And for today's WHAT'S MORE LIKELY??

a) a deity gave this order to Jews so that they would be protected from disease

b) some pretty severe cases of Taenia solium (or other shitty fucking parasites, bacteria or viruses) were hitting the chosen people so they decided it was better to stop eating pork... and then codified the law in the only way they knew at the time

One wonders why god didn't explain how to properly raise pigs to these people.  Two birds...one stone.  Better ag practices would have rectified the starvation problem he created back in genesis....-and- the evil spirits problem which was making people ill, that he created when no one was looking.

Forgive me for being ignorant, but the 'you' in Genesis 9:3 that was given the green plants sounds like a continuation of the promise made to Adam that he would eat of the fruits of the field. This sounds like an addendum to a generational promise, not a promise made specifically to apply to Noah.

This is where the witness usually amends their testimony to convey what's being said easier. This of course would make sense if God was human and more prone to making contradictory statements.

There is no lack of specifics if you ever cared to read and study the Bible. Like was said earlier the laws given Noah have always been true for the Gentile world, God eventually chose a man to form a nation which He did in Egypt for 400 years where they were kept safe until their numbers grew to a size God was ready to use. When they were in the desert God gave this group of people, His chosen one's new laws and the one about the pigs was for them and not the Gentiles as many others were. Look at this way a man starts a business and sets down rules for his employs, then he expands his business to in another building in another town far away and gives those employs a set of rules some that are the opposite of what he gave to the other employs, it's his right because he own's the business. The rules are not contradictory because they apply to two different sets of people in different situations. Hope this will clear up things for you even though I believe it was made plan by the other Christians to start with. You have a lot to learn. Most the atheist consider themselves logically superior to Christians on this site, seems to me they have little grasp on what logic actually is.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I think that a wider problem than any issues of consistency, in all of that GC...is that none of it ever happened. So if you're going to point to a rationale for gods strange little ask judy routine on what we can and can't eat...might it not be a better idea to point to something that isn't completely fictive?

Pigs aren't that unclean are they ??

Dogs don't have cloven hooves but pigs do have cloven hooves. Pigs just miss out on the cud thing, and I gotta wonder, maybe they do cheweth the cud, but only when no one is looking.

How would we know ????

Pigs are exceptionally clean.  Easier to house train than a dog because they won't shit where they live if given the choice. They're just smart little pains in the ass...which is probably the origin of the prohibition against their utilization, in reality.

Think of it as an early attempt at an ag extension procedural "don't waste your time with these, do this instead".
