Let's see how many apologetics take the bait

If the argument is that this is a blatant contradiction, maybe so. I think the bigger argument is that this shows that God is a bit too flexible with his plans for mankind, varying multiple times across generations. Something that doesn't seem appropriate for a majestic omniscient being.

And 'religiously' unclean not being synonymous with dirty (dirt dirty not prurient) is a further subtlety I've encountered with religious folks on this topic.

Kinda makes me think of the Cecil Adams definition of cooties:

an intangible profusion of vileness

IOW, it's a juvenile thing from a juvenile mind

It does give insight into the christer mindset though.  They'll blame the livestock rather than the substandard conditions imposed by the owner. Farmer G isn't a silly peice of shit...no no no..Pigs™ are -unclean-..... Jerkoff

Hey Nymph, this is only a contradiction if the believer claims that God is unchanging with other 'omni' traits: an unchanging god would need to write the rules correctly in the first place, armed with the omni-science/benevolence that it would be necessary to control porcine consumption at a point in our future. It's worth checking what the believer thinks but you're correct in this contradiction from the standpoint of addressing many fundamentalist sects.

Drich, you believe in an unchanging god, don't you?

Chad, I think you don't; correct me if I'm wrong but you believe god changes it's instructions based on our ability to understand at any given point in time, with the aim of helping humanity develop? Further, that requires certain omni-traits?

They do that because their god, if he were real, is narcissistic. One of the traits/characteristics of narcissism is to blameshit. Christers learn real well from their imaginary sky daddy.

"Oh look! Pigs are vile creatures because they are dirty! But it isn't our fault. It's obviously the pig's fault for living the way they do!" - pig farmer extraordinaire.

And?

The first was a general rule for all people. The second was given specifically to Israel. The stated purpose of the Mosaic law was to make Israel a peculiar people separate from the other nations. Note also that the Mosaic law was offered to Israel as a voluntary covenant with reward for obedience, and they accepted it.

Jewish thinkers recognized the difference and identified the 7 Noahide laws that apply to all, as opposed to the 613 Mosaic laws that apply only to Israel.

Also note that we have different rules for different subsets of people today.

So, what's the issue?

Part of the issue is that christers believe in a book that leaves too much room for interpretation. It does contain errors, clearly. If god wanted to, being omni-everything - he very well could have made his "rules/laws" more clear. In addition, if you follow the belief that he created man, then why would he purposely single out a certain group of people for special treatment?

This is doing exactly what parents who show favoritism for one kid over another, do. They pick favorites and screw everyone else. Erm, excuse me, but if god is going to play favorites, he fucked up.

The other issue(s) have already been opined by me.

I suppose the ten commandments only applied to jews also.
That's why they could kill everyone from another religion and just keep who they wanted to rape for later.

My favourite part out of the bible is when Lot wanted to give his daughters to a bunch of men so they wouldn't rape a couple of angels.
Compared to that piece of injustice, all his wife did was look back and got turned into a pillar of salt for it.
Turned out good for Lot because he got to rape his daughters later on without any trouble.
'I was drunk and they seduced me', wouldn't cut it as a defence these days.

The bible is full of good stories like that I've found.
Like the bears sent by god to eat a bunch of children who made fun of an old man.
Or Sampson killing thousands of men with the jawbone of a donkey because his hair was long and it made him strong.

I'd like to hear the good old x-tian logic on that.
There's a lot of x-tians who don't read their bible and are brainwashed. Their not necessarily stupid.
But you people who have read the bible and still believe it.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
You must be fucking psychos.

There is no such thing as biblical logic.  It's an elaborate joke that the English cooked up when they wrote the story.

As you are aware the fairy tale claims that you aren't supposed to eat a lot of stuff because it's an abomination.  Yet the fairy tale has people literally slicing and dicing their children and making stew out of them.  How insane is that?  Wouldn't a normal, rational sane person rather eat a pork chop, tuna, shellfish (unless allergic), or even a roasted buzzard instead of a child?
