"In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other menn, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error." (NIV)
"And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." (KJV)
Also, Jesus said that if you lust for a woman in your heart then you're guilty of adultery (Matthew 5:28). The obvious implication is that if you lust for a man in your heart then you're guilty of homosexuality.
If your claim is that it is not sinful to have homosexual urges but rather that it is sinful to act on them, then you are a liar. My quest for finding an honest apologist continues. I altered your posts to highlight the parts that say that the act is sinful. As far as the post concerning lust and adultery, here is the verse in context:
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
The discussion was concerning adultery. If you even lust over another's wife you are as guilty as if you committed the act. He wasn't discussing an attraction towards a man or a woman.
Quote:Irrelevant. We're talking about homosexuality.
Since christianity doesn't recognize same sex marriages, homosexual relations are sexual acts outside of marriage.
Quote:So you are saying that if you were raised Christian, and hit puberty as a Christian, then you should not get married? The only way a Christian should be married is if they were an unbeliever and then converted after already being married?
No. Once you get married then you should have sexual relations.
Quote:Elaborate on what you mean by "evil."
Here's my definition:
Evil: to willfully cause harm to another.
I think this is your definition:
Evil: to willfully disobey God.
Your definition is partially correct. If you willfully cause harm to another person you are committing evil. If you are willfully disobeying God you are also committing evil.
Quote:The fact that you are lumping homosexuality in with pedophilia means you are a bigot. But we've already established that you're a liar, so what the hell, why not be a bigot too?
The reason that I'm lumping homosexuality with pedophilia and alcoholism is to demonstrate that they are all understood to be innate within individuals. If they act out their desires they are performing acts which are considered evil to in christianity. I'm not saying that the act of sex between two adult homosexuals is as heinous or as harmful as pedophilia.
As an aside I love homosexuals and want the best for them, which is to follow Christ. My younger brother is gay and I also love him. We live on separate coasts, but my whole family visited him a couple weeks ago. I also love pedophiles and alcoholics. Homosexuals and alcoholics who know me and my sins also love me.
If you take every instance of the word "adultery" from the Bible to mean simply adultery and not fornication, then where in the Bible is fornication outlawed?
An honest reading gives us these rules:
A woman may fornicate, but if she does she may not marry. The only exception is if she's raped, then she may marry the man who raped her. If a woman is not a virgin and gets married, she is liable to face execution.
A man may fornicate (with or without consent). If he fornicates (again, with or without consent) with a virgin and is caught, then he must marry her (provided she wants that) and he must pay the father 50 shekels.
So the Bible actually does not forbid fornication. Let the tap dancing begin!

That's a wimpy devil Rob! I could do better than that. Actually, the devil probably more often represents himself as something very good and desirable. If he appeared as a scary creature, most people wouldn't want to be near him.

That lets Trump out then.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

You do realize people cherry pick from the OT you can't just follow the NT and throw the OT out you literally have to follow both.

Just because I highlighted the suffering I have to see as part of employment where I have to read many sad stories people have to send in as part of their application for their disabled person's parking badge. Apparently god sometimes uses cancer for the betterment of an individual I'm told. All humans have to suffer, but it's what you make of that suffering.
A recent story: New family just moved to England (Arabs, I think), they are just adjusting to life in a totally new country and they are burdened with a one year old baby who has spent almost their entire life in hospital. And says this is wrong means I'm speaking for the devil. Apparently pointing that out is an argument from ignorance.
I can't believe anybody would say this to me. All because I supposedly took Bible verses out of context and don't want to go Church. The devil is deceiving me apparently. I did cite the following verse:
"And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron."
— Judges 1:19
Apparently this part of god's "plan". I feel so horrible. Couple of days from now, I go on holiday to visit part of the family who think homosexuals are evil and that diseases only apparently after "the fall of mankind".
So.. what part of what you said, are your saying speaks like the devil?
We do have several examples of the devil taking verses/What God says out of context to further his own agenda.
We also have examples of the devil minimizing sin in order to make people feel as if God is wrong for making laws that call what we do sinful.
We also have examples of the devil using the lure of an easy life as a means to entice and make a follower turn from god.

And we have good reasons to believe that all those examples are fictional.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)
