Without skin, nerves, pain receptors, a brain to process experiences, I don't really see the point of torture, hell or even heaven. If they are just gonna "magic" me into existence to magically transmit those experience to my magically-existing-non-existent body.... why the fuck would anyone need to bother with the hell heaven shenanigans, how they look like or how exactly the torture will take place? just magic everything...

presumably your ethereal essence, soul if you will, can be subjugated, incarcerated, and subject to hideous torment like being forced to watch Partridge Family reruns for trillions of years, or to be anally raped by various farm tillage machines (16 row and larger) for an infinite amount of time
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

It's called - paranoid schizophrenia...

Its the same as proclaiming that faith is a mental illness. Very aggressive move towards religion.

I don't think you have to be mentally ill to have faith, just stupid will do it.

Its the same as proclaiming that faith is an mental illness. Very bold claim.

Indeed...
I'd say it's a mental state.
To call it an illness implies that it's a state that's detrimental to the individual... and, while it is detrimental to a form of intellectual honesty, many people can maintain the faith state and undergo no form of intellectual dishonesty (how's that for multiple negatives?).
Perhaps, because the dishonesty is not perceived as such...?

RE: Do you still fear hell?
I fear it as much as I ever have, which is not at all.

I remember having one very strange moment, maybe about 6 months ago, where hell suddenly seemed real. I felt I was going there, and I was frightened.

The moment passed and I returned to normal. How weird. It did give me a rare insight into what brains can be conditioned to feel.
