I cannot imagine one as young as her being schizo, though.
I imagine she is merely acting out due to something else in the family dynamic that is affecting her, and she figures the best way to seek attention is by making such a claim as to hearing the devil speak to her.
It's basic psychology.

Look, Jehanne, I understand that these things aren't easy to get involved in. If you would rather stay out of it, I think that's fair, it's your life and your choice. That being said you should make an informed decision. This is a serious issue, emergent even. This child could take her own life or someone else's.
At the very least you have the ability to pass the ball, whether anonymously to an agency, or to a friend or associate who can make the call.
If you're concerned about breaking your friend's confidence I should think, that were he a reasonable man, he would forgive the breach since it could potentially save lives.

Similar lacking of imagination has cost many a life in the face of mental health disorders. An evaluation hurts no one save for time wasted perhaps.

I know it's not quite the same when it's a friend, but I just want to point out that professional confidence can (and must) be broken when there is significant danger of harm.

I'm a mandated reporter, meaning that if I had any knowledge whatsoever about this kid, where she lives, et cetera, I would be mandated by law to report it. I think it's pretty effed up that the OP has such knowledge but won't take it upon him or herself to do the same, against the law or not.

I don't know where I stand legally, but I'd be morally compelled to report it. I don't think anyone's confidence should extend to imminent and extreme harm.
