I am not in the slightest bit interested what you have had for your dinner (and I really don't want to see pictures of it).

Why? If you're really a friend, you care about your friends' lives...

and where in the world you are.

Again... real friends care about that kind of thing. Like my friend who spends a good portion of his life in Turkey; I'm really glad I know where he is and how he's doing.

Nothing, last I checked. In fact, I'm glad to be FB friends with people whom I can't regularly meet up with. I would have lost touch with a lot of people I know from all over the world if it weren't for FB.

and  worst of all Facebook pretends to be your friend when it fucking is not.

I had 369 'friends' when I was on it, 2 of them were actually my friends, and one of them I did not like.

Why did you accept their friend requests, then?

Get new friends. Like a few pages. I don't know what the problem is. I'm endlessly entertained by my news feed.

Admittedly though, I barely (well, not as much as my friends anyway) used Facebook and followed quite a lot of pages. So I probably missed a lot of decent posts. I personally don't think it's worth re-activating my account, but we'll see.

Pretty much sums up my own feelings. I always knew we had something in common, after all.

What's more, the whole purpose of that shit is to generate a giant marketing profile of every user that's on. To be used and abused by every interested and paying party, possible or current employers and the authorities.

I'm not as naive to believe that I'm not leaving traces on the internet. But facebook and other so called social media platforms take data collection to a whole new level.
