At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Most gaping assholes take a break once in a while, Drich. Try it sometime.

It's a specific interpretation of genesis that leads people to imagine that incest was required.  That interpretation is difficult to maintain if one continues to read genesis..for example, when cain complians that his mark will make "other people" kill him...we're not told who those other people might be..just as it doesn't tell us who cain married, but their casual injection into the narrative ought to tell us that with adam and eve, the authors were not necessarily thinking like we might today (or, rather, that they were thinking quite a bit like our colonial ancestors..when they met subhuman savage races of non-men).  It was a special creation of a special people.  A divine master race.  There were other people about, obviously.

Back to reality...cain simply stands in for those elements of their own society that adopted the others way of life, and went out into the world to intermingle with them. In this way they can demonize other ways of life -while claiming credit for their achievements....just as the narrative would later do with the nation of Egypt.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Still borderline incomprehensible, I see.

OFC.....I'm not trying to make their stories anything other than what they are...only shining a light on -what- they are, lol.

No, I just mean your style of writing sometimes. Your thoughts seem as if they come out of nowhere at times. But it's ok, I've gotten used to it. It must be one of your things. Mine's being an asshole for no reason every now and then.

Sad to say, many people seem intent on just being an arsehole.

They come from the tree...upon which I/we/he/she/shim/it hung for nine days.  Or ten, or thirteen.  Can't remember.

Religious narratives are, at the heart....somewhat random.  At least they seem to be, until you place them in context...like the bit about Cain and who he and his wife was. The farmer, father of civilization, metalworking...a murderer....oblivious regarding death or consequence...all of those things that might tempt an impoverished shepherd to leave the fold.

Your style of discourse is incredible. Like stream of consciousness with doses of beautiful syntax.

Never change. Clap
