Or are they now being told that they are already disenfranchised and need to act!

So basically, muslims using muslims to achieve an end ...  I s'pose old habits are hard to break.

Times have changed. 20 years ago young muslims in Germany meant mostly (and still does) the kids of Turkish immigrants. They kind of were doing ok for the most part, not brilliant (there are after all almost 3 million of them, and most are doing okish). Some joined crime gangs etc. I think the turks often kept to themselves and kind of did their own thing looking after each other, which led to some formation of ghettos, which is not great either.

OK. That's life everywhere sadly.
I just heard that 60mil Americans are on food vouchers! That's 3 times the population of Australia.

But what is happening now is a whole different toxic blend of ideology.
Even if the Nice driver was alone, he was obviously inspired by what is going on.

Has there ever been a terrorist act not inspired by religion or religious offshoots.
Whoever says religion isn't a tool of control is kidding themselves.

You're in danger of committing a Scotsman fallacy. If a kid guns down a dozen people in their school, it's called terrorism if they have a hand-drawn IS flag somewhere, but if just have counterstrike and some Marilyn Manson tracks on their computer, it's called an killing spree.

The vast majority of mass killings lately have all been based on religious ideology. Yes? No?
That's the perception I have?

OK, you get the Murican shootings, but they've been happening daily since the wild west. Americans killing Americans for non religious reasons is just ....Murica.
Think of it as background noise.

I'm not saying that I definitely know that existence of Islam doesn't worsen violence. But we shouldn't neglect the effect of radical islam simply being the outlet du jour for anger that was already there.

RE: German axe attack.
This is from my other German friend:

"Yep. Axe.
We don't arm our lunatics as well as you do over there. Wink

As guns are not that easy to come by in germany, the crazies in our country use other means to inflict injury and death upon their victims.
Usually, they grab a knife, axe, hammer, steel pipe or something along those lines and go on their spree.

This, in turn, means there's usually less dead and injured people in the wake of such an "event", because those attacked always have a realistic chance to defend themselves or even fight back.
Sometimes, one of those mentally deranged chucklefucks gets hold of a gun and raises the death toll exponentially, like in the school shootings we had here.
For germans, that's not an argument to make access to guns easier, but harder.

This time, a 17 yr old from afghanistan attacked a chinese family from hong kong on a train.
The father and a friend fought back, shielding the rest of the group. 5 injured, 4 need emergency medical treatment.
The perp fled the train, was cornered by the police and shot as he attacked them.

The currently reported "Allahu Akbar"-part is disputed, most probably comes from a Tweet of an alleged eyewitness, and most of the reputable news outlets don't report it.
German authorities have a long history of trying to keep rumors at bay. If there is evidence for an islamistic background, they'll report it as such.
At this point, this is still unclear.

Currently it's reported that a mentally deranged 17yr old from afghanistan attacked people on a train. Last year, it was a mentally deranged 38yr german old from Wuerzburg who attacked people with a hammer, injuring two people lightly and was kept at bay with chairs until the police put him in jail.

Shit happens. Crazy people are everywhere. Smile"

Aren't Germans creepily forgiving and PC all the time... I wonder how much time needs to pass before they get over it.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Did they shoot him dead too forgivingly for your taste?

Of course you don't, I don't expect you to. You'd have to be an outsider looking in.
