Atheist/liberal correlation
RE: Atheist/liberal correlation
I don't think that Trump has been using his -brand-, unless his brand is batshit xenophobia, to manipulate the media.  If You pay Trump upfront, why can't he get the donors......

American business appears to have less faith in Trump than Trump supporters do. Besides, if someone else can do something better and/or cheaper...the smart business decision is to let them do that, and find a way to profit from it, or find something else to do. Expecting the government to go protectionist to keep your steam engine service and repair business going is.....well, un-american, I thought? To put it another way, the money we spend fighting battles we can't win is money we could have spent fighting battles that we -could-.

Those factory jobs every candidate promises to bring back/keep at home? They're gone. They're never coming back. They won't even -exist- in a decades time. Shouldn't we move on to bigger, better things? The sooner we can accept that fact, the sooner we'll be able to find that "better thing" in earnest.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Are there any numbers regarding jobs lost to outsourcing vs. jobs lost to technological advancements? A common refrain is "I'm going to bring manufacturing back!" But, if that manufacturing is largely done by assembly lines of robots, then what?

A better question would be, how will he go about that problem? He never said anything about his plans. A sure sign he's talking out of his ass, since, short of a planned economy there is no way.

That's what gets me about Trump.  His plan for everything is literally:

"Here's something I want to do.  I'll get the best people to make it happen.  It'll be great.  It'll be yuge."

He has absolutely 0 substance.  And he's a pathological liar.

All rightwingers have zero substance. Their followers don't ask, but scratching the surface always reveils that the emperor wears no cloths.

The smart business decision is 100% to lay off american workers, ship the factory to Malaysia, and then hire a staffing agency over there to fill the factory with child slave labor. I agree 100% that that's the way to go from a business stand point.  But I don't like it and would prefer to see the system changed as much as possible.

That question is not lost on this Trump supporter.  The problem is the lack of options.  It's not like I can choose between Trump and a Super detailed obviously competent person with a highly detailed populist agenda.  It's Trump or Hillary.

Or, maybe.....make something else?  I don't understand why people immediately default to their worst fears, particularly when the field is so rife with other options. What could be changed about our system, to make an impossible model work...and why would we want to do that, even if we could? So that someone doesn't have to go out and find the money? So they can continue to produce a subpar product at an inflated cost with no consumers to purchase it that will be drowned in a sea of competition? To what end?

-addendum to the above.  Why not just call it what it is, put those folks on welfare, and not waste the resources making the product?
