Violence breeds violence. I imagine many religious fanatics and/or people with psychological problems are motivated to commit acts of violence, by atmosphere of terror and chaos, caused by ISIS attacks over the recent years, spun by mainstream media and right-wing politicians and fueled by scared people through social media.
It'll probably get worse, before it gets better...

It's a common effect and it's the media's depiction of such violent acts that inspires further ones indirectly. It's a sad truth.
X sees Y committing an atrocity on the news. X copies Y. Z copies X. And so on.

Don't shoot your doctors.
They're overworked, underpaid, and should be treated on par with the most defenceless and innocent of beasts.
