Here in the US, there is a religious temper tantrum every Christmas time.
You hear about it often on Fox news.
They call it "the war on Christmas".
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Yes, back in 1987 my best friend, myself and my girlfriend went clubbing.
After many, many drinks we decided to crash at his house cause it was too far to walk to mine.
He had a double bed so we all slept on it with me in the middle.
In the morning his mother came in and was positive that we'd had a threesome. A bisexual one.
She was ranting about fornication and homosexuality and how I had Satan in me and was such a bad influence on her son.
I was banned from ever going to their house again.

Not had the displeasure of physically seeing one (yet) but I remember my cousin's soon-to-ex stepfather freaking the fuck out on Facebook when the 2012 US election results were coming in.
Ranting about how Obama lost the popular vote, how an Islamic cabal were pulling the strings, then all of a sudden...SATAN! All served up with lashings of bible quotes and histrionics about the end times, and how Mitt Romney was the greatest thing that could've ever happened to America.
It was all absolutely cathartic on a level I've rarely experienced before and since ^_^

he bible quotes and supports a Mormon ?? The bible says in it to not change it or add to it, and dear lord almighty, the mormons have gone off the deep end on both counts.
That is hyper weird, and not in the fun drop LSD and go to a casino kind of way.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

My career was in the entertainment business, otherwise known as "The industry of human happiness".
Tantrums? I've seen a few.
This recent escapee from TTA forums is on heavy drugs costing $25.000.00 per week. They affect my mind at times. Excuse me if I react out of the norm.
Banjo.

Sure. I've seen people of many different persuasions make the most ridiculous associations and "logical" inferences. I don't think most people are very good at critical thinking or recognizing their own biases.
I find it uncomfortable to witness, especially the times I've caught myself at it.

It was a very religious temper tantrum, with how he was going to pray to god to deal with them because they took it away. It was just completely ridiculous. (He said some other ridiculous things that I won't even repeat) I'm glad my kids were out swimming in the pool, so they didn't have to hear it. They'd probably think their grandpa was crazy.
Have you ever witnessed a rant like that? In person, I mean. I'm sure there's all kinds online. What's the most ridiculous thing you've heard?
Hardly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I've been to Pentecostal church conferences.

Yeah...I think he was Episcopalian or some such branch. He 'rationalised' it by saying at least he wasn't a gay muslim communist nazi like Obama.
He did stop short of actually accusing Obama of being the antichrist though, which was splendidly forward-thinking of him
