Where does the Light Go when you Turn the Switch Off?

Where does the Light Go when you Turn the Switch Off?
We know light is made up of particles called photons. But they don’t act like other particles. If I pour salt from a box onto a plate, when I close the box, the salt will still be on the plate. But when I look into a lightbulb while switching it off, I can see the light being sucked back into the bulb. That may be an illusion, but my point remains, why do photon particles disappear when their source is turned off?
1. Why does everything within the earth’s atmosphere keep pace with its spin except light? Because of gravity, when the Earth spins away from the sun, everything spins with it, but the light remains where it was.
2. Why does the cosmic microwave background defy the laws that govern photons on Earth by existing without a source?

Visible light photons absorbed by materials in room, the materials warm up (ever so slightly) and radiate a touch more in the IR now.

2. The CMB was radiated by ordinary matter. The atoms we're made of also radiated light 13.8 billion years ago when the universe cooled below 3000 centigrade, and those photons "we" emitted are now the CMB for "people" 46 billion lightyears away!

Then is it possible that when our eyes adjust to darkness in a dark room what's happening is we are (I don't know the right word) recapturing, transforming, the IR light absorbed in the walls and furniture? Possible?

Atoms are immortal. We are made up of atoms, therefore we are immortal. Meet me by Mars!

We as humans have sex. We are made up of atoms... therefore atoms make sweet sweet sexy time with each other Cool

Uhm, no. We can't see infra-red radiation. In a room truly devoid of visible light human eye can't see a thing. However, most dark rooms contain certain amounts of dissipated visible light, coming through even very tiny openings - like spaces under doors, key-holes, between threads of fabric of which curtains are made and so on. Our eyes are really sensitive to even tiny amounts of light - on a dark night they can see a candle-light 30 miles away. It just takes them a while to adjust to different light levels.

It's not that the light disappears. It is simply blocked by something and gets absorbed by its blockade.
P.S atoms aren't immortal they decay into different isotopes which eventually leads to them turning into energy. And due to red-shift (light from far away stars increasing wavelength [towards red and beyond]) energy can also be lost. And also since there are so many atoms one of them is bound to become energy and dissipate into nothing.
Yeah, ik it breaks the law of the conservation of matter and energy but what can I do?
