Most US Vets Don't Get What's Really Sacred

That's when freedom of speech is MOST needed! Freedom of speech would be pretty useless if it was limited by what the majority agreed with! Freedom of speech means freedom to vent ANY opinion. It loses its power and relevance otherwise.

Indeed. Freedom of speech is hardly about protecting the right to extol the virtues of baseball, mom, and apple pie.

If the anthem were sacred then why do we keep letting people butcher it on live tv?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'm a vet. I didn't serve so people wouldn't have the choice to sit during the national anthem, quite the opposite.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

If I could only have one, I'd take the underneath part.

I did 20 and I don't think such things should be mandatory.

I always thought that the reason you join was to -protect- the flag burners of the world from assholes who hate them for their freedom.  Wink

That is so offensiv. I demand that she take it off, and that I be there to ensure that she does.

IKR,m and we could get a bunch of joes to create a defensive perimeter around her, to protect her right to talk it off and encourage her by throwing patriotic images of dead presidents her way.

Ah, the good ole times.....  Wink
