I for one find it more remarkable that Trump managed to still run his businesses in the ground. Even if the mob heavily invested in his exploits. That's a dut if there ever was one.

Back in the 70's I guess there was a writer named Jimmy Breslin who wrote a book called "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight."  One of the gags was that they couldn't make money running a gas station where they stole the customer's cars.

Casinos are an even bigger scam.  There people just give you money for nothing and Drumpf still ran them into the ground.

Tax write off cannot be ruled out. A lot of hotels went up around Ireland in the 90's with nary a prospect of ever coming close to profit. But they were sold on for good value even fifteen years later because the tax write offs given were that good.
