Sometimes we do .. And sometimes we realize one mistake doesn't justify another.
Certainly, in the grand scheme of humanity, all humans generally do stupid things.
Religion, however, propagates this irrational idea whereby theists are allowed to be stupid because they have a belief in something that is not real.

When I make an unutterably stupid mistake, I have no need to turn to religion. I have a wife who is perfectly happy to point out my errors in judgement.

They actually end up making things even worse, if you stop to properly analyse them. People don't, I imagine, because they just want the pill. Personally, I accept that such notions as "unfair" are just human value judgements. Reality is what it is. I have no need to make up stories to accept that. |
