Seriously, I had a woman on Facebook just the other day tell me how cute this type of behavior is and how it's only seen as bad by people with perverted minds. A mother...she told me that it's perfectly normal for men to play around with girls like this...Blech. It's fucking disgusting. I would probably be arrested for my response if someone did that to my daughter.

The problem isn't that every pedophile acts on his impulses. As a heterosexual man I don't go out molesting and raping every woman striking my fancy. And gays don't go out molesting and raping persons of their own gender. It's the same with pedophiles. As has been said, most won't even be noticed.
But there's another side to the problem. We all consume porn in one way or the other. There's no denying that. For pedophiles consuming porn is in itself a crime, since someone has molested or raped minors to produce the material for their gratification.
Not necessarily. There's loli and shota con. While it's utterly disgusting from my point of view, they're still just drawings. Surely that and a sex toy would curb them from hurting real children?

I know you're in the United States where images like that are legal but Loli and Shota, along with any other form of cartoon child pornography is illegal over here in most parts of the UK since around 2009.
The Coroners and Justice Act of April 2009 (c. 2) created a new offence in England and Wales and Northern Ireland of possession of a prohibited image of a child. This act makes cartoon pornography depicting minors illegal in the UK
My country (Scotland) is apparently excluded from it though.
