Belfast bakers lose "gay cake" discrimination appeal

I was having this discussion with my Mom last night
I think these cake makers are fools, I really do. They only bring out this "it's against my views" argument selectively when a gay couple walk in, they don't use it when talking about, say, someone who is being married for the second time after a divorce, or a couple who are not virgins walking down the wedding aisle. That's why I can't take it seriously, it's selective. But with that said, as a gay person, I have no interest in paying you my money to make me a wedding cake if that's how you feel. It's fine, I'll move right along and find another cake maker who, A) Isn't a bigot and B) Actually cares about their craft enough that it doesn't matter who they're making their cake for and for what event. I don't have to give you my money, you can lose customers, I'll go elsewhere. There will also (in this day and age) be straight customers who will boycott on behalf of gay people, in the same way people would boycott if an interracial couple got refused. I think this whole discussion is petty from both sides. Yes the cake makers are wrong, I also think it's petty how more gay people don't have this "ok fine, you can not make money then..." mentality and move along. Vote with your feet and money, it doesn't need to be a massive legal issue.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie

I'm not above boycotting businesses that have issues with gays.
I've never set foot in a Cracker Barrel, or a Chik-fil-A. Don't drink OJ very often, and JFC, Anita fucking Bryant was back in the 70s! I don't go to a local restaurant that uses the Christian message rock selection from Sirius/XM as their Muzak either. It doesn't have anything to do with gay issues, but I'm trying to figure out how to get out of my Wells Fargo Visa card just because Wells Fargo is run by a bunch of fucking criminals. There are many potential considerations for doing or not doing business with a given concern. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
I remember reading this story and thought it was utterly idiotic all around. From the people who requested the cake to the people who refused to fucking bake it.
Like for fuck sake, do people honestly not have bigger problems? Is this the world we are fucking living in? "Oh, that bad man refused to bake my pro equality cake, better call the police" "Oh, these bad people have requested a pro-gay cake, my moral sensibilities prevent me from putting on that icing!" Fuck my life people.
Well, the cake thing is a toe in the door.
Do we want doctors and nurses passing judgments in the ER ? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Fucking lawyers and their precedents, makes me nervous.
As for the Belfast Bakery, apparently the gays there never got in to bombing shit like the protestants and the catholics did . . . The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
