You wild man!  (Me too.)  But tell me, while it may be possible to have a non carbon based life form or one not based on DNA, don't you think it more likely that most if not all will?  I believe suspect that.

Could be but as hard as it has been even to initiate the beginnings of life in the laboratory, the possibility that a different formula altogether would get her done strikes me as unlikely. Not the same as ruling it out of course.

Biology isn't my thing but I have to think that evolution is going to select what works. Bipedal form with two eyes works best at humanoid size in an environment similar to what we have here on Earth. That might not be the case in worlds with greater or lesser gravity but I'm inclined to think it wouldn't be that much different on other worlds. Same laws of physics, similar solutions.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I've read up on the topic several years ago for a talk on exoplanets I gave, and even talked to an expert, though I don't remember all the details. There is a branch of biology/chemistry where they are trying to rigorously determine ways to have life based on different elements, or even in solvents other than water, which is super interesting (think liquid methane). I also lean towards carbon being the element of choice even for space alien life.
