Yeah, it's just a shame the man in the video wasn't armed. Now that would have been an entertaining video! Also, you're extremely lucky to have that right in the first place. Sadly we don't over here in the UK, but with the way things are going, that might actually change in my lifetime.

Yeah I've been considering it for a while, things around my area are getting worse instead of better. We're going to move sometime in the near future but until then I'd rather not be unarmed, lot's of gang and drug shit going on across town.

The protests, or rather the belief of those protesting or otherwise expressing fear at the election results, is disturbing.

To me, they're only disturbing to the extent that they lead to violence or other destructive behavior, like the assholes who attacked a Trump supporter.

But the doom-and-gloom prognostications are nothing new. I think they've been getting more and more hysterical over time, but that might simply be age and media access affecting my perception of it. I have no doubt that there were people who felt that the world was going to end when Reagan was elected, then when Bush was elected, then when Clinton was elected, then when Bush was elected, then when Obama was elected, and so on. I think Trump can do some damage as President because I don't think that he has enough of a mental filter to keep from doing and saying dumb things. But I also know that he isn't about to turn the nation into 1930s Germany.

I expect that we'll settle in after a few more days, then the hysteria will pick up again in January and for a month or so afterwards. Then things will settle down again and we'll spend the rest of the next four years making complaints that will sound very familiar to anyone who has followed politics for the past 15 or so years.

To be quite honest, I am looking over my shoulder a lot more lately than I usually have while in public. People seem to be inspired to react with violence towards anyone different than them because of Trump's inspiration. Trans people get attacked and killed enough as it is. I just keep wondering when I will be next. The university right down the street from me was already heavily vandalized by Trump supporters right after the election. Even in a blue state, I know I'm not safe.

While I think the protest here in Albuquerque was tastelessly done, at least they didn't hurt anyone or cause damages.
