I think you just birthed the next blockbuster movie universe franchise....and we could go way back with it...

I'm much more interested in what makes you debate the same old, same old. Is it the wish to convince an idiot or is some kind of self assurance?

They never present and will never present anything original. We've heard it all before, even if this guy is genuine, which I refuse to believe, since I want to preserve at least a shred of belief in humanity.

That's the thing. He doesn't want discussion or a debate at all. He wants to pester us with verbal diarrhea until we cave in and start believing in his magical sky daddy.

I laugh because many have tried before him. He apparently thinks he's going to succeed with whatever brand of bullshit he's selling.

Old testament Yahweh is like "I gotta be me!"

- He lets Satan put Job (a "blameless and upright" man) through the wringer while also murdering his children and his servants (which could have been many dozens of people considering how wealthy he was and how much livestock he owned), then gets angry when Job understandably expects an explanation for why he was treated so shabbily. But the many dead servants and their families? Collateral damage lolz.

- David commits adultery and arranges the murder of his lover's husband to cover it up (ever notice how these people who dealt with God personally never seemed to think much of him?) and suffers the dire penalty of... having his love child killed by God, then taking the woman as his wife and just having another kid! lolz.

- David pisses God off by taking a census, so God asks him to choose from three punishments. David goes total weaksauce and lets God choose because --and I'm not making this up-- God's "mercy is very great." God then sends a plague that kills 70,000 Israelites, but manages to not kill David. This is the second time that he pushes God into a murderous wrath, which God takes out on innocents.

For a pretty awesome example of how arbitrary God's judgment can be, read Exodus 32. Note that when the Israelites ask Aaron to make them an idol to worship, he gets right to the task. He even admits this to Moses when the latter arrives ready to kick ass and take names. But although 3,000 Israelites were killed for worshipping the idol, Aaron gets off scot free for making it. Hell, he becomes the high priest of the new nation! Nepotism FTW!
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

*yawn*

As Rob said, a good working definition of god would be useful.

Further to that, it's not necessarily the quantity of evidence, but the quality.

And finally, if you're the best messenger your god could round up, he must be scraping the bottom of the barrel, because the only things in your OP that I see are baseless assertion after baseless assertion, leavened by the occasional non-sequitur.

2/10, trai moar, wouldn't reply again.

Did he cover why I should care yet?

When I do a video, the first thing I try to do is to explain why I'm discussing the subject at all. I don't just launch into an assault on the senses to try and get people to agree with me on some unimportant point.

No one thinks their points are unimportant, Rob.

God can't create reality. Anything at all being "outside of reality" to create it, makes no sense whatsoever.

There are super things, and there are natural things, but there aren't supernatural things. Not part of nature=not part of reality. Nothing happened or existed "before time" or 'outside of space'. Before-ness is itself a temporal concept and outside-ness is itself a spacial concept. Nothing can be before anything else without time and nothing can be outside of anything else without space. God Himself ™ is a complete non-concept.
Such an interesting viewpoint,  Ham, I completely agree!

Thank you for your awesome wisdom!  Worship
