RE: How Much Evidence Will It Take You To Believe In God???
November 15, 2016 at 6:14 pm
Exactly just as I thought you would do, People claim to reject God’s existence because it is “not scientific” or “because there is no proof.” The true reason is that once they admit that there is a God, they also must realize that they are responsible to God and in need of forgiveness from Him. Romans 3:23. Atheists are strongly motivated to not believe in the biblical God a God who is rightly angry at them for their treason against Him.

That just isn't based in reality. Why would I need forgiveness from God? Because I have sinned? Isn't it impossible not to sin? So I need forgiveness for not doing the impossible, from the one who actually made it impossible.
I don't believe any gods exist. I am not biased against Zeus because I don't believe he exists. I have no malice toward Krishna because I don't believe he exists. I have not committed treason against Baal because I don't believe he exists and therefore do not worship him.
And why would any deity be "rightly angry" for me not believing? Do you not believe your God to be responsible for giving me a brain to think with and the desire to think with it? Why would he be so furious with me for using it?
What is REALLY going on here is that you are ignorantly demanding that I simply accept what you say as absolute truth on no evidence whatsoever. And not only must I accept that your god is really real, I must ALSO accept that no other gods could possibly be real, that yours is the one true path even among those who believe in your god, that any other beliefs involving magic or spirits, if real, are actually representatives of Satanic works, etc. You are demanding that I believe EVERYTHING you say, that I discredit EVERYTHING you don't agree with, based on nothing but your word that you, personally, "know" it to be true. Well I have a friend who "knew" a couple of weeks ago that he read an article on the CNN website which quoted Obama as saying he wouldn't leave office if Trump won the election, but he was wrong.
You simply cannot fathom that your beliefs are only special to you. There is no reason for me to hold them dear because I don't care if they're real or not. You have to pretend that atheists are this group of nasty, evil, vile people who hate your God because they don't want to follow his rules, but really, how fucking hard is it to not kill people, not steal, not lie about your neighbor, not fantasize about banging your neighbor's wife, go to church now and then...there's nothing there that is really all that tough. I already don't do most of the things I'm not supposed to do and do most of the things I am supposed to do. My life would change very damned little if I joined a mainstream religion. Granted, it would change a lot more if I joined one of the more "colorful" religions. I would have a lot less free time, what with all the Bible reading so I could pretend to know something relevant, the door knocking and, of course, trolling Internet forums full of atheists so I could get myself all worked up over how stubborn and evil they were for not doing what they mostly already do anyway.
And for your belief that I am "strongly motivated" to not believe in God, do you even understand how stupid that is? If I did believe in God I would be VERY strongly motivated to not get my ass lit on fire for all eternity. What moron would knowingly trade all eternity for sleeping in on Sundays for a few decades? Yet THAT is the idiotic choice you seem to think we've made. I don't believe because your argument is not compelling. Your argument is not compelling because magic isn't real. That's it. There are no secret motives. There is no conspiracy against your deity. The ENTIRE STORY is that magic simply isn't real, so I reject your magical thinking on the basis that you can't show me any damned magic. It's pretty straightforward, actually.
So what does that mean? All your whining and tantrum throwing about how we are actively sabotaging your attempts to "save us" isn't for us, it's for your own petty, selfish need to feed your own belief system which even you aren't dumb enough to buy on a subconscious level. You'll live forever!...after you die... It's no wonder you are having so much trouble hanging on to those moronic beliefs that you feel the need to "throw yourself into the lion's den" and just poke at those lions until you get the reaction you were hoping for, confirmation that lions are mean! It's not about us. It's about feeding your own pathetic need to quell your own doubts about beliefs which ultimately make no sense, something you are well aware of on a subconscious level. That's why you're so confrontational and angry about it.
Have you ever noticed all the drug commercials on TV lately? Why is it the side effects never include penile enlargement or super powers? Side effects may include super powers or enlarged penis which may become permanent with continued use. Stop taking Killatol immediately and consult your doctor if you experience penis enlargement of more than 3 inches, laser vision, superhuman strength, invulnerability, the ability to explode heads with your mind or time travel. Killatoll is not for everyone, especially those who already have convertibles or vehicles of ridiculous size to supplement penis size.

100% Proof Jesus existed. Proof 1: The Shroud of Turin.
Proof 2: Cornelius Tacitus (A.D. 55-120) was considered the greatest historian of ancient Rome.
Quote:He wrote of Nero who "punished with the most exquisite tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus [Christ], the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time, broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originiated, but through the city of Rome also.
Quote:Wikipedia Wrote:
Cornelius Tacitus (/ˈtæsᵻtəs/; Classical Latin: [ˈtakɪtʊs]; c. AD 56 – c. AD 120) was a senator and a historian of the Roman Empire. The surviving portions of his two major works—the Annals and the Histories—examine the reigns of the Roman emperorsTiberius, Claudius, Nero, and those who reigned in the Year of the Four Emperors (AD 69). These two works span the history of the Roman Empire from the death of Augustus in AD 14 to the years of the First Jewish–Roman War in AD 70. There are substantial lacunae in the surviving texts, including a gap in the Annals that is four books long.
Also, Flavius Josephus, a Jewish historian, (A.D. 38-100+) wrote about Jesus in his Jewish Antiquities, saying that Jesus was a wise man who did surprising feats, taught many, won over followers from among Jews and Greeks, that Jesus was believed to be the Messiah, was accused by the Jewish leaders, was condemned to be crucified by Pilate, and was considered to be resurrected.
Quote:Wikipedia Wrote: Born Joseph ben Matityahu (Hebrew: יוסף בן מתתיהו, Yosef ben Matityahu; Greek: Ἰώσηπος Ματθίου), was a first-century Romano-Jewish scholar, historian and hagiographer, who was born in Jerusalem—then part of Roman Judea—to a father of priestly descent and a mother who claimed royal ancestry.
The existence of Jesus Christ is recorded not only by Josephus and Tacitus, but also by ancient writers such as Suetonius, Thallus, Pliny the Younger, and Lucian.
And from the Jewish Talmud, "we learn that Jesus was conceived out of wedlock, gathered disciples, made blasphemous claims about himself, and worked miracles, but these miracles are attributed to sorcery and not to God." Thus, historians both favorable and unfavorable regarding Jesus did write about him. Also there were many historical writings about the early Christians.

The Talmud (/ˈtɑːlmʊd, -məd, ˈtæl-/; Hebrew: תַּלְמוּדtalmūd "instruction, learning", from a rootLMD "teach, study") is a central text of Rabbinic Judaism. It is also traditionally referred to as Shas (ש״ס), a Hebrew abbreviation of shisha sedarim, the "six orders", a reference to the six orders of the Mishnah. The term "Talmud" normally refers to the collection of writings named specifically the Babylonian Talmud(Talmud Bavli), although there is also an earlier collection known as the Jerusalem Talmud, or Palestinian Talmud[1](Talmud Yerushalmi). When referring to post-biblical periods, namely those of the creation of the Talmud, the Talmudic academies and the Babylonian exilarchate, Jewish sources use the term "Babylonia" long after it had become obsolete in geopolitical terms.
Since you like to leave out relevant parts of the wiki, which can be edited by anyone... I've put them in below: bolding mine.
Regarding Tacitus:
Quote:Authenticity and historical value
Although the majority of scholars consider it to be genuine, a few scholars question the authenticity of the passage given that Tacitus was born 25 years after Jesus' death.[40]
Some scholars have debated the historical value of the passage given that Tacitus does not reveal the source of his information.
Michael Martin notes that the authenticity of this passage of the Annals has also been disputed on the grounds that Tacitus would not have used the word “messiah” in an authentic Roman document.
Weaver notes that Tacitus spoke of the persecution of Christians, but no other Christian author wrote of this persecution for a hundred years.
And where is your proof on the Shroud of Turin?
See... when you cite one source, and that singular source happens to be an editable Wiki article, I'm still going to have issues believing you. Furthermore, many of the sources in that article are of the christian/catholic faith. So unless you can get an absolute independent piece of proof that can't be editable by anyone browsing the WWW, you still fail.

Darn right it's an emotional reaction. I'm absolutely fucking horrified that you worship a god whom you apparently believe would torture sentient beings for eternity for something as trivial as non-belief.
If there is a god out there, I trust that it is considerably more sane and compassionate than the murderous, unstable asshole described in the Bible. The god that you believe in simply is not worth worshipping.
Quote: We might imagine a disobedient child who is about to be punished by his father. He might cover his eyes with his hands and say of his father, “You don’t exist!” but that would hardly be rational.
An atheist looks around, sees no gods, and shrugs.
Believers of your ilk rage and whine and stamp your little feet because atheists can't see your imaginary friend.
I think we all know who the child is in this scenario.

Lol how do I know "atheism is true"?
How do I know that I don't believe bullshit fairy stories, you mean? My brain tells me.
How do I know it's a rational position? It hasn't been remotely challenged in my whole life. A non-trivial, coherent, falsifiable hypothesis hasn't even been put forward. The whole thing is a joke, and I can't believe some people who claim to care about the scientific method can be involved in such garbage.
Oh, and even more importantly, no one can tell me what difference it makes to anything, except to try and order me around with their personal dogma. And my rejection of religion has nothing to do with atheism. Atheism is just an assessment of the facts. Rejection of religion is mostly based on morality, and also the fact that it offers me absolutely nothing.

Same evidence for all of them
People are claiming goblins as well now? I knew about pixies and the gnomes. Why don't people just admit that they are angry at Leprechauns for not leaving them pots of gold?
