Populous demands usually are stupid demands. I've seen a similar calculation on the homeless, who are quite often at the receiving end of populous ire. It would cost much less to provide them all with modest flats than it costs keeping them on the streets. But things like that are never making headlines,

In one of the cities I grew up in, they're a big problem (primarily for beachfront property owners and their net worth..because, surprise surprise, there are fucking fish in that water and fish are food, lol)...but then again, what would we do with all the dogs we trained to chase them out from under bridges, shred their tents, and generally scare the living shit out of them.. if we just found them a place to stay? Particul;arly chilling since the homeless, as a group, are almost to a man suffering from some sort of mental disability. Assholes say "what's wrong with them, they could work! lazy takers!". Take a little time getting to know them...you'll figure out real quick whats wrong with them. They -should be- in assisted living arrangements.

Yeah, I know that, but couldn't find a report that explicitly discounted children born in the US to illegal immigrants. I went with that report as a 'worst case', assuming that the education costs relate solely to children that are not citizens. I'd be more than happy to revise the costs down if more accurate figures can be found.

Because some posters have brought up the 'cost' of illegal immigration as a reason to deport them. I'm trying to make the point that if it is the cost to Joe Public that people are worried about, it would - in the worst case scenario - cost about the same to deport an illegal immigrant than it would for them to stay, (as you say, in reality it would likely cost a lot less for them to stay) so that particular reason is imo invalid.

I get the point, but it was something that came up a few pages back and it needed reiterating, lol.
We'd lose money, and not a little bit..alot. Consider how much labor has to be done to get to that level of payroll tax contribution at their diminutive wages.....how would the people who avail themselves of the labor get the products made...in order to sell them? Who would buy them?

Every good con is sold by preying on people's fears "you better buy into my claim or bad things will happen" or vanity "you are entitled to it". This is what makes selling "get rich" and "my religious club is the best" so easy to sell. More humans world wide need to understand that there is no such thing as a utopia. Not in politics or religion or class or economics.
