While I disagree on GC's ideas about abortion, I stand with him saying that most people who deciding to abort a pregnancy because of disablitiy have no idea how disabled people live. What we are capable of, for goodness sake one of the most brilliant men in the world is a wheelchair user and has text to speech technology for everyday use. Those would be parents have never been to conferences at The Board or Developmental Disability, or gone to a Partners in Policy meeting. The fact that nobody tells these parents what the highest possible outcome for their future child could be, instead people have this weird eugenic idea of not messing up the gene pool or that all disabled people are helpless and suffering.

Make sure to view the whole thing (5 parts) and then tell me if you'd still birth a baby knowing it had this condition.

Abortion is murder in the eyes of God and mine, too. As I stated in the previous post if a person kills a fetus outside of abortion they can and are charged with murder, in my state it occurs in almost all such situations, so most in our government see those fetuses as people. Yes they have struggles I know it all too well but, they enjoy life and as far as I can tell they have no regrets. I certainly know "my little girl" has no regrets even though she went through hell for five years. She loves living life as much as anyone.

First I want to say I know I feel sorry, more sorry for him than he felt for himself. Second I want to say even though you insisted I watch all five and I did, I do not believe you did because he called atheist idiots.
I know he said he wouldn't bring a baby into this world with this genetic defect but, over all I do not believe he regrets having the chance to live his life because, as he said he made it count for something. Without his birth there's a good chance money would not be raised for this genetic defect. I thought him planning his own funeral was heart warming. Even though death frightened him he was facing it with great strength and he knew it was going to be a relief from his suffering. I admire this man for who he was and from what I saw he left this world with no regrets. He expects to be in heaven and I hope to see him there where he will be enjoying his new body for eternity.
So no this hasn't changed my mind on abortion and like I said his life had purpose not just for himself and his family but also for those to come. I say God bless his family for supporting him in the life he lived.
Let me say this no matter how many videos you post they want change my mind, God has a purpose for all lives even those that make us hurt and who am I to interfere in the omniscient God's plan.

You're just flat out stupid, comparing human life to clocks.

Thanks for informing me that I'm flat out stupid....for comparing human life to clocks.
If you hadn't informed me, I would have plodded through my turgid existence thinking I'd just compared the shit your silly god finds icky with the shit captain hook finds icky, and not realized that I'd made no such comparison.
What would I do without you GC, what would I do without you.......

So, do you think it's wrong for the pregnant couple to choose to put their baby up for adoption in this case? Would you judge them? How do you feel about this type of decision?
Bold mine: I haven't got children but going by how I generally feel I'm tempted to judge them. I can only go with what I know about my own emotions and attachments. I feel like I could never do that. I would at least try to keep the baby. This may sound peculiar to some people, but we once had a former lab dog, distrustful, deaf and suffering from diabetes, as we learned later. But never in my wildest dream would I have been comfortable with giving her away. She was ours to look after and I would have felt terrible if I had dealt with the situation in any other way.

Doesn't sound strange at all. I'd never hand over any of my children, for any reason, and I'd never abort a child, for any reason.

Well, to begin with, I wouldn’t let doctors set limits on my child before she is even born. They can be wrong. When my cousin was a baby the doctors thought she was deaf because she never talked. One day they were in the doctor’s office and my cousin repeated back the words the color said. That’s when they did tests and found out her hearing was fine but she was autistic. They told my aunt that her daughter would never talk or do anything for herself. My aunt ignored the doctors and taught her daughter how to talk. Now she expresses he opinions, initiates conversations an d even uses the synonym list in Word to increase her own vocabulary. So, to put it mildly, fuck what doctors say.
But if this couple really doesn’t think they have the patience and compassion to deal with a less than perfect child, then, no, it’s not wrong for them to be honest with themselves make arrangements for their child to grow up in better circumstances.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
