Most of them are young and dumb, many have been taught you have to be aggressive with those who differ from you, they do not learn from the scriptures they listen to the bigotted.
They're not any different from the new atheist who come on here and attack the Christians who've been here for a long time, they're trying to score points with the long standing atheist and I'm sad to say but, they do receive encouragement from many so they just keep it up. The influx of young immature atheist comes at the end of the school year and some after mid-term. That's exactly why I left a while back, just couldn't have discussions with any intelligence to them.
None of us like the harassment from the other side and we all should try and be more respectful, it makes for a more pleasant atmosphere.

I'm no door mat for atheist or Christian, I pick my battles not start them. In the past I did start some battles and nothing good ever came of that. I'm stubborn and stick to my beliefs because they make me who I am and frankly I like who I am for the most part. I'm like everyone else and need improvement and try to find it so I can be a better person to and for others.
