But this was my point. I am not equivocating every situation. This situation is not the same as someone who didn't plan for a pregnancy and didn't want one. I would never say anything to a person who lost a pregnancy that they wanted. Never.
But I also wouldn't demand that every woman treat every pregnancy, even the ones that they don't want, as a precious life that, biologically, it objectively isn't.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

And for that poor woman, that WAS her child. I don't think anyone would be cruel enough to dispute that with her.
I wish I shared your optimistic outlook.

I can think of worse reasons.
Anyway it is her choice. Not some bible-thumping asshole.

We should be encouraging people like her to have abortions.

I'm not going to make jabs at miscarriages, but I'm not going to equate that to the abortion issue, either. You are choosing to have that potential child, and I won't tell you to do otherwise. That's wonderful. I just don't think everyone is ready to turn that clump of cells into a child yet, and I support their decision even when I disagree with their reasoning.
Actually, LFC made her point wonderfully. I couldn't have said it better.
Aww, spanks, jesster!
You will soon know how much that pain pays off. Oh my poor wife. I needs her and she is unwell. Baby Sofia is fine, she did left a trail of destruction behind her. Ahw, she takes after daddy.

Tell that to the women who have had first trimester miscarriages.
I'm not a wholly insensitive person, I wouldn't approach somebody who miscarriaged that early and tell them that to their faces. But the appeal to emotion doesn't change the facts.

And it grates grates grates my nerves when those thumpers feign ignorance about how fucking Jehovah actually assigns His values.

Please take heed that I think any woman that wishes to carry should have all support. Those that do not, make their choice. And I am sure it is no easy choice for any woman.
