Hearing free speech one doesn't agree with should inspire more free speech.
That it doesn't seem to as much these days is concerning.
A corollary issue, perhaps, 'obstructionism' during the Obama era was always attributed to racism. We still have obstructionism going on, and it clearly isn't racist based now, and by it still existing it reasonably calls into question whether or not it was inspired by racism before.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I don't believe that it was all due to racism, but I think you can throw it into the pot. I think quite a bit of it was racism by proxy. If your constituents are a bunch of racist and vote you in power, your bound to feel some pressure to keep them appeased.. Even if you don't feel that way yourself (or not as strongly)..
John McCain is the only one that has any balls. He set that old racist bag straight at a town hall meeting when she was calling obama an arab. The rest just bend over and ask for a donation.

Looking at Berkeley last night is sickening.
I'm old enough to remember the Skokie march and how difficult that was for people to understand, and JFC, how much worse things are now . . .
Fuck, even Scalia understood this sort of thing, why is it so fucking mysterious ??

Why is protesting hateful assholes not an expression of free speech? The students were peacefully protesting on a public school campus, and whether you agree with the students or not, they are perfectly within their rights to protest. Some anarchists came in and wrecked everything.
They didn't prevent him from speaking. They sought to prevent him from speaking at their school. There is a difference. He is not entitled to speak anywhere. He can speak where he is wanted. He is making money hand over fist for this. He's just fine.
