Why Lust is bad, not gonna use "sin" reason but logical reason

You may not agree with the conclusion but here it is.The Samson and Delilah story illustrates what happens to an individual who breaks the First Commandment as stated in Exodus chapter 34:12-16. It also illustrates the passage about God having mercy on those who he wants to show mercy to (Romans 9:15, Isaiah 54:7). Samson broke the First Commandment but God forgave him and restored his strength to defeat his enemies. Paul made an allusion to the Samson story in 1 Corinthians 5:5 when he says that such a person as Samson (he didn't directly refer to Samson) should be turned over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day when the Lord comes again. Judging by your posts, you seem to have proved my point. Religion has shamed you into thinking sex is wrong. Quote:In either way a study shows people who have sex too much are more depressed than people who have less. Can we see this study please? Anyhow, doing anything "too much" is problematic. By definition! That's not an argument against it. We don't either have zero lust or infinite lust; this is binary thinking. You seem to suggest people in general have no self control, and can't have some sex without doing it all the time. That's just not reality. Quote:There is a reason for why the bible says "Abusers of man kind" this is more a case of psychological abuse, consent or not it has the same effect when not feeling loved but used, even if you are married or not. If anything you guys have been fooled by marxist leader Herbert Marcuse being the founder of sexual revolution or liberation. I have no idea what you're talking about again. I've never heard of that guy. You seem to have personal issues with sex. Why are you telling people how they feel after having sex? Neither I, nor anyone I've had sex with, has ever felt this way as far as I know. You see sex as psychological abuse? That's just plain scary. I would like to see your sources to support this claim. I hope it's more than quotes from the bible. And consider this: you believe in a God who decided that the way his creations would reproduce would be through psychological abuse? What does that say about God? Quote:More people are getting obese and lazy compared to people in the 50s. Completely irrelevant. Feel free to send me a private message.

Then they should have sex more often, burn off those extra calories. Fwiw, the way I generally feel after sex is huleepy - a combination of hungry and sleepy. Boru

If someone feels used after sex, that is an indication of a problem either with the sex itself or with one of the parties involved. It's not a problem with sex in general.
If that's how you've always felt after sex Rispri, then I am very sad to hear that. I imagine this would be either due to religion making you feel that way through its dogma, or having been with abusive people. I feel a great sense of calm and happiness after sex. And usually hungry also! Denying yourself regular sexual relief is unhealthy, I know that much. Feel free to send me a private message.

You lost me at "lust is bad".

Never use the bible as the basis of your argument 2. So the bible says lust is a sin... well without Lust or a sex drive we wouldn't be here as a species.

Isn't the desire to reproduce why we -um- reproduce. So sure why not--whoops it turns out that doesn't have an off switch. I suppose an omnipotent God could have put an off switch there. But either he didn't want to make his rules you know possible to obey or god doesn't exist.
Before you read into it what you want, I'm not saying everyone has to copulate with everybody but by the biblical definition, everybody lusts.
Lust is thought crime.
People who hold in their urges are prone to violence, the example is excessive violence used by nuns in Ireland against the megdelena sisters. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...-nuns.html But its worse than that, by making any lustful thought a crime it lessens the impression of actual sexual crimes, so when catholic priests were paedophiles they were treated the same as people who had healthy liaisons with adults. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. |
