(AMA) I live in a patriarchy. Ask me anything.

RE: (AMA) I live in a patriarchy. Ask me anything.
It takes a lot for me to take a genuine dislike to someone. There are some things he's said in the past that I won't repeat. No I will not be his Skype buddy and no I am not being mean.

Yes I do still have a stick up my butt. Lol.

Alas... even if he does come back and follows the rules, he's no doubt going to say something that someone doesn't like. Sometimes free speech sucks, but it's here for all of us. This break should be a time for him to realize that he can't step over the line and lie about staff actions. In reality, when a report is made, we have zero ideas about what the staff do to handle it or any possible violations. While I think that discussing what "may" or "may not" happen, falls in the realm of free speech, but outright saying what they "will" do, is completely unacceptable.

He does say things that are on epic levels of stupidity, but as long as he's not breaking the rules, he has as much of a right to be here as anyone else. That was a tough lesson for me to learn with all the drippy bullshit from last year but I accepted it and as a result, I have zero interactions with him.

Sometimes it takes a bigger person to just scroll past the idiotic posts and not fall for the traps those people try and bait us with.

He lives in a patriarchy ruled by women. Oh if only I had taken him seriously: It makes perfect sense. He totally wasn't just looking for attention in this thread right? Lying about staff action when I call him out on what he's doing just demonstrates that he really is here to discuss things maturely like an adult, right? Oh if only I had taken him seriously!

This is primarily why I hope he returns.
I disagree with almost everything he says, but I don't think pool is like
Dirch:  Someone who is so stupid they couldn't logic their way out of plastic bag.
ProgrammingGodJordan:  Someone who is just here to troll for the sake of it.

I think Pool is to some degree genuine, and I may not like what he says, but I appreciate that he puts it out there.  I appreciate other people on this forum more when I disagree with them because I think the bring up better points, but either way, I'd hate to see a voice of genuine dissent leaving for good.

Yep. But he outright lied about Lastpoet PMing him and misrepresenting the staff is against the rules.

I'm grateful that I've been a staff member here on AF more than once... and I can vouch for the fact that everything is done rationally and reasonably and as fairly as possible. People that none of the staff personally want here are still able to stick around provided they don't break any rules. I doubt Pool's ban was only temporary because the staff love him so much. It's because his rule violation wasn't great enough for permanent.

I think it's only a matter of time before he causes enough trouble that he eventually gets banned... but everyone deserves a fair chance. Even a certain black and white excitable animal had many many chances but you can only disrupt forum discussion for so long before there are consequences.

Drich has vile religious beliefs and PGJ simply an unintelligent troll with no life.... Pool's just a really shitty person. He doesn't really have any excuses. He deliberately causes controversy, he starts threads and then backtracks or shoots people down and he laughs as he says the most vile bigoted things. It's not like he's getting this shit from the Bible. He's just a very bigoted person.

He's more like a low grade EP than anything, really. Someone with no life. The good news is Pool is too dumb to really cause much harm to anyone... the bad news is at least EP could act intelligent.

Pool talks of a patriarchy where men are owned as slaves by women.....? Oh my god it really is impossible to facepalm too hard over that.

A point that was addressed in my post. See the bolded part.

To be honest, coming into another person's thread and making comments that have no bearing on the thread or making comments which border along the line of ignorance solely for the purpose of egging them on or agitating them, is also out of line. In my personal opinion, those offenders too, should get a time out.

Are we free to say what we want? Mostly.

Lying about staff actions is one of those things that crosses the line, as we've seen here.
Someone knowingly harassing someone else and trying to pass that off as some innocent remark, is, in my opinion, just as fallible.

But if he's got a case to be made, where he has been trolled continuously, then I think it merits a look-see. I can't presume to know the feelings that staff has towards pool and I'm not going to. But if a member is being followed in threads, there is a clear cut pattern of this and there is obvious agitation by the same person(s) simply for what the member has posted, whether they are liked or not - they don't deserve that shit. Those that knowingly engage in that sort of behavior are just as much in the wrong for doing it because they know better.  Those who choose to engage, need to own their own shit and not act like they didn't do anything wrong. Feigning innocence and being a victim while it's clear that they are the perpetrators, isn't an admirable quality. And certainly nothing to brag about.

RE: (AMA) I live in a patriarchy. Ask me anything.
It's bullshit. I haven't even been very active lately so I'm certainly not following him. I'm just responding and calling out his bullshit. Pool is a liar as has been demonstrated.

I don't troll. All my posts have initially been on topic and the only digressions that happen are part of the natural flow that happens all over AF. I've not done anything that violates the trolling rule anymore than anyone else here. The only trolling here was done by Pool when he completely lied about staff actions which just demonstrates my point that he's only here to cause trouble.

Like I said it takes a lot for me to take a genuine dislike to someone. I know what he's up to when he starts these threads. This whole thread was a trolling thread which is why he acts like such a shithead when people respond to him and he doesn't like it when people see him for what he is.

Everyone deserves a fair chance but it really is prolonging the inevitable. I can understand why Shell feels like it should have been a permaban because it's only a matter of time before Pool makes enough bigoted troll threads where he provokes people enough times that he gets permabanned.

Still it makes sense that everyone should get a fair chance. It's not impossible for him to stop trolling and to learn to behave himself. I just know it isn't going to happen and he'll eventually get banned for shit like this. I wish he'd never came back. I thought he was gone for good. He's utterly vile.

And this is your opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it, but whenever you have decided that you don't like someone - whether it be for their views or just because you don't like their personality, you go after them with such a venomous hate that I start to pity you.

He is allowed his opinion. Trying to assert that your opinion is better than his by repeatedly beating to death your point in post after post is really not necessary. This isn't an isolated incident. And I'm just going to leave it at that because I honestly don't feel like dealing with tons of text walls from you over this. You're a good guy ham, but sometimes you tend to go overboard on things that should just be dropped.

Actually, it's not bullshit. But take it how you want. I think you'd rather ignore it (or go completely ballistic) when someone has something negative to say about you, but you are happy when you can get negative digs in about someone else and not get called out for it. I'm not gonna sugarcoat shit for you because at the end of the day, it's still shit. But you really need to start owning some of the stuff you say in this forum.

I have no idea what you're basing that on because Pool is one of the few people I dislike and I don't hate him at all. I don't hate anyone. I call bigoted morons bigoted morons.

Quote:He is allowed his opinion.

Yes. But the point is he's only here to troll. He's even willing to lie about staff actions. It's ridiculous.

I never understand all this crap about how people are allowed to disagree with me and allowed their opinion. Duh. Yes they are and they do. And yes I am and I do. You don't have to deal with my text walls. I am allowed to express myself too.

Things that should just be dropped? I'm entitled to my opinion too. When I'm told to drop talking about something it's clear that I'm the one who is being treated like they're not allowed to express their opinion. I don't tell other people to drop it because I really do think everyone is entitled to their opinion. No one has to drop anything. This is a discussion forum. He created a thread saying ask him anything so I asked him why he was such a bigoted moron. If the topic is asking him anything then that's on topic. It's also a question asked in order to make the point that troll threads from trolls don't deserve serious responses.

RE: (AMA) I live in a patriarchy. Ask me anything.
The staff acts in an educational way. Honestly if he was lying about what I said in a post, I only would give 0 fucks. Lying about me PM him as a staff member, bothers us all as WE are a team, we work for our decisions. Yeah, the guys with the mops.

It is a temp ban because pool might need to cool down a bit. Personally, by using my nick to misrep the staff would grant a perma. But when you are staff you have to try to remain objective. He has his chance to remain on the forum. It is only up to him.
