I'm pretty sure it's legit. Assange's an ass who posted stuff he shouldn't have posted before editing it first - such as clear names of informants - but he always posted genuine material.
This one also features nicely into the Snowden material.
I'm not so sure. Everything that Assange has received in the last three years has been from Russian state actors. And as the Democrat hacks have shown there's very little of actual intelligence value coming from Russia.

Look at the CIAs reaction. They're not denying it, they go down the usual road of looking for the leak. It is legit. Everything wikileaks published so far has been legit. There's a lot to be questioned about the personality of Assange, but the material he published never has been fake material.

When an organisation that hasn't published anything of value in years, a one that actual whistleblowers have abandoned en masse because of the owner's use of their material to push his political agenda and because he has shown a reckless disregard for both their safety and that of innocent third parties, I'm not going to trust anything it says until independent verification.
Assange isn't worthy of my trust.

I just watched a news report in which government officials confirmed the documents are in deed real. What hasn't been confirmed is whether or not any of this is being used against Americans. But sadly, it puts the ability to hack the US, in the hands of the very people that shouldn't have access to the codes required to hack us in the first place.

On that you can bet your ass. This will be used and abused in any possible way. Probably has been for years. Snwoden should have taught us as much.

You're probably right. It's scary to think what this world is coming to. Or what it has already come to.

It's on it's way since 9/11. Globally. The attacks have delivered the perfect pretext for the services going rogue. Or the governments - not mutually exclusive. On a global level. There's not one country that still ofers as much privacy or civili liberties as they did before 9/11. Virtually every year they keep chipping away and people are getting used to it. That's probably the worst part about it.

Well, we can probably blame that in part, on the fact that the government hasn't been "for the people" in decades. The government hides things from us, no longer really works on behalf of the majority of its citizens. The small guy gets shut out and then fed misinformation and is forced to just go along with whatever. The shitstorm is only going to get worse with Turdblossom in office.

I struggle in vain to think of any power granted to our government that has not been abused at one point or another. And considering that the agency in question is responsible for MK Ultra and other illegal domestic programs through its history; and considering that our government is always looking for better ways to snoop on us in violation of our penumbral right to privacy, I'd indeed bet my ass that this has already happened, as you say.
