Why is there a north Korea in the first place?

Because of the WLB's Russki buddies.

Japan's dreams of an empire was so influenced by the western model. When interests joined, Western superpowers didn't have objections to shake hands with Russia; in fact this is what happened in the Middle East in WW1.

Communism didn't change the rules, the regime change in Russia happened but still: it's keeping its handshakes with monsters like Assad in Syria. 

North Korea is in Russia's pocket as a booty of WW2 deal, South Korea is in the hands of the west also as a booty.

Korea was in the hands of the Japanese and their loss in WW2 is what caused the division between North and South Korea. The best thing that could have happened was for the entire nation to be handed over to the west. Where would you rather live today, North or South Korea?

South Korea is an independent and successful nation because of the opportunity for democracy afforded to it by the west after the war. An opportunity they have done much with to their credit. North Korea is a disaster because the insane communist Kim Ill-Sung and his cult of personality received support from the communists who would rather see a nut case in charge than have open democracy.

Either we just wait for the regime to collapse on its own, or we go to war with them. That could potentially spark a conflict with China, although China's relationship with North Korea seems to have been getting worse over the years. They recently placed sanctions on North Korean coal (their main export) but the West may have to make some sort of deal with China to convince them to abandon North Korea.

Peacefully or violently, it will be one massive expensive mess and it will be our countries that will have to pay the price to clean up the said mess. There is absolutely no way South Korea could handle the refugee crisis that would ensue on their own.

The south is not independent, it counts on the U.S for its own defense against the north; if we were to talk in the context of the current story, the south would just perish behind a cloud of atomic bombardment fired from the north.

The south has LG because of capitalism. It is a system allowing companies to spend and expand, not like Communism that creates and allows dictators to have all wealth and all manufacturing to themselves.

Whenever a missile is fired from the north, the south's allies jump to the scene. It's a pattern: Kim tries so pathetically and so hard to convince us that he's crazy. The west then responds with a speech, more economical penalties. Even if a war broke out, the context of a lie cannot be skipped, since soldiers on both sides are drugged with local propaganda: Northern, Western, Southern or Eastern.

This is exactly what a perfect business environment is: a round table where different fatcats sit, and fight with cellphones. The victims are civilians and soldiers who were led through propaganda to fight the fight for the fat cat, drop bombs for the fat cat, does it all for the fat cat. 

On the round table south and north mean nothing. Even the Mongols and the Crusades created stable and wealthy economies to some time, the excuse of every dictator is the "gold sack" thrown to the bellydancer. But it's easy to see the sword chopping heads on the other hand.

WW2 didn't even complete 100 years span. Cats always fight. And we get to suffer.

I have heard that if North Korea reaches a point of full-blown war that can't be settled diplomatically and they unequivocally started it, China has said they will not support them.

Apparently, the big reason they put up with North Korea is because they fear if North Korea falls, their Communistic government won't be too far behind, seeing that's what happened with the Western Communists around 1989.

Given that once, Russia sent supplies via train and North Korea took everything, even the actual train (the people there had to walk back), it's not hard to see why the relationship is so strained.

Wrong,  the south is independent. The fact that they have helpful alliances does not change this fact. 
By your strange definition no one is independent because we all have alliances. Not even individuals can be considered independent if they have any friends or family. You're definition of independent is actually useless. 

In the south, the people are no more victims of capitalism than are Norwegians, Canadians, the Spanish etc...  There are no pure Capitalistic nations anywhere on earth anyway. Certainly not South Korea that has universal health care. We all mix and match to various degrees.

It's very easy to point out problems and declare that it's all a big conspiracy and fall into the Alex Jones theory that everyone everywhere is a victim of some cabal. I hope you can shed this tiresome mindset.  The world is subtle and complex and does not conform to your simplistic view of good guys and bad guys.
