Hitler's private religious beliefs, or lack thereof, are irrelevant.

That he and his staff were able to manipulate the beliefs of their followers is not. Highly so.

This is the warning from history.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

What mattered wasn't his personal beliefs, but that he was successful in preying off the beliefs of the majority. Blind loyalty and hyper nationalism, leads to both things like Hitler, North Korea and dictatorship theocracies like Saudi Arabia and one party states like Cuba, and again, Cuba is a majority Catholic. Religion itself does NOT unsure protection of pluralism.

Sort of what I was saying.

. . . still, there is a stripe of US Christer that has to be thinking, "If only those mean old Jews hadn't murdered Jesus".
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Always funny when people want to act offended that a guy who was on this planet solely to get killed, got himself killed.

"Those ducks ate all my stale bread!"

"But you threw it for them to eat..."

"Yes, but it was my bread! The bastards!!"

It never happened in reality, but the motif of the story is absurd if one wants to claim it to be a "sacrifice". If you murder someone in the manor as the bible would have you believe, in reality, they stay dead. If the bible had been written today the followers would be wearing needles around their necks instead of crosses.

But again, it is still absurd logically speaking if God keeps hitting reset. If he gets everything right, then we'd still be in the garden. If he got everything right no need for a flood, if the flood was supposed to work, no need for Jesus. But even after Jesus God goes back to being a violent vindictive bully to anyone even those who simply didn't want to follow him.

The God of the bible behaves like a childish brat who cant get the characters on his Xbox to do what he wants. It is a bloody version  of Sim City. He reads like a childish bully where at best we are his toys, props, lab rats, mere property. Scientifically absurd alone from the first page to the last, but morally bankrupt as well and amounts to a threat bribe system on par with a mafia boss.

Very true. what good is it to make the promise not to destroy the world in a flood, if you're just going to do it with fire later? Why call something a sacrifice, when the end result is ruling over everything in heaven? The story has a lot of holes in it. It is just a story, but a lot of people believe it's true, and have acted violently because the book is filled with violence. God does not so love the world in any way that we consider what love means. He can count the hairs on our heads, yet doesn't understand how humanity works. Apparently he doesn't know that we can't control out thoughts, only our actions. He doesn't understand how fundamental sex is to physical and mental health, beyond its function of producing children. This despite supposedly living as a Human for thirty years in the past.

Hardly necessary.  There have been some major xtian scumbags across the years.  It's a big tent!

Quote: What shall we Christians do with this rejected and condemned people, the Jews? Since they live among us, we dare not tolerate their conduct, now that we are aware of their lying and reviling and blaspheming. If we do, we become sharers in their lies, cursing and blasphemy. Thus we cannot extinguish the unquenchable fire of divine wrath, of which the prophets speak, nor can we convert the Jews. With prayer and the fear of God we must practice a sharp mercy to see whether we might save at least a few from the glowing flames. We dare not avenge ourselves. Vengeance a thousand times worse than we could wish them already has them by the throat. I shall give you my sincere advice:

First, to set fire to their synagogues or schools and to bury and cover with dirt whatever will not burn, so that no man will ever again see a stone or cinder of them. This is to be done in honor of our Lord and of Christendom, so that God might see that we are Christians, and do not condone or knowingly tolerate such public lying, cursing, and blaspheming of his Son and of his Christians. For whatever we tolerated in the past unknowingly_and I myself was unaware of it_will be pardoned by God. But if we, now that we are informed, were to protect and shield such a house for the Jews, existing right before our very nose, in which they lie about, blaspheme, curse, vilify, and defame Christ and us (as was heard above), it would be the same as if we were doing all this and even worse ourselves, as we very well know.

Martin Luther  (fine xtian!) from "On the Jews and Their Lies."
